Greg Martin, the artist who drew so many iconic box art covers during the retro era, has passed away, according to a forum post from a friend. If you're a retro gamer you may recognize his unmistakable art from Bonk's Adventure, Sonic the Hedgehog, Adventure Island, and many more.

Evidently he started his career at Hanna-Barbera, where he developed his talents and signature style. Every cover was done by way of an airbrush and took at least one week to complete. I, for one, feel like these covers defined the era (in a very good way), and his work will live on for years to come.

Enjoy his art in the gallery below.

Gneiss: Mountain is now on Steam

I'm still not entirely sure what to make of David O'Reilly's Mountain, but now that it's out on Steam for Windows, Mac, and Linux, I am that much closer to taking the $0.99 plunge and finding out. This is an ambient game "des...more

Hyrule Warriors concept art of a lady relative to Link that looks just like him

Some people got real squirrelly when they thought Link might have been a woman in the new Legend of Zelda. None of you, I'm sure. Our community has a noted love for the idea of Link as a woman. Anyway, here's some pictures fr...more
