Great Big Daddy costume or greatest? photo

BioShock is one of those games that will always live on in our memories not simply because it was a memorable game, but because its characters have become so popular in the cosplay scene.

Harrison Krix, the guy behind the new and improved Destructoid helmet, is at it again. His latest project is much more substantial than our mascot's shiny green head, and you can tell an indescribable amount of love went into creating the costume.

To truly appreciate the Big Daddy outfit, you need to check out Harrison's blog, where he has put up a walkthrough of the entire creation process with plenty of detailed pictures along the way. So, what do you guys think? Is this a great BioShock costume or the greatest?

Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied: "bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways. Very well done. Would have liked something to cover up the green cloth on his arms and legs, but everything else is spectacular.

I think the most important thing to note about this costume is that the DRILL WORKS.

Seriously, I saw this costume at Dragon*Con and seeing the Drill begin to rotate was enough to cause me to flee the other way in sheer terror.

Excellent costume.

@johannhat: Please tell me there's a video of said drill going in action, words alone aren't awesome enough to detail something like that.

...I'm a complete moron for missing that link. I'm so ashamed.

Anyway, that drill spun a lot faster than I expected it to go, fear-inducing indeed.

That is pretty amazing. Also, I didn't expect the drill, respect to him for that.

@Jack, it said he can stand still for 30 minutes "comfortably", but walking is "suicide".

I can concur about walking in a big daddy costume. I just would turn on the drill and people would scatter. I needed a spotter or I would just smash into everyone.

WOW! 2K Games should hire him to come to events in that costume!
