Grant Morrison to write Area 51 script photo

Grant Morrison, the author of Arkham Asylum, will be writing the script for Area 51. While Morrison is a great writer, the film has still yet to get a director, so Paul W.S. Anderson or Uwe Boll could still hunt down Paramount and beg them for a directing role. According to the Variety article, Christine Peters will produce the film, who worked on How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.

I have great faith in Morrison's writing, although there are two main problems with this. First, Morrison doesn't have much to work with here. The story is fairly barebones and it's really all about the action. Second, the director is going to have a huge influence on this, and I'm fearful that it's going to go to a bad director. If anything, I'd like to see this go into the hands of new talent, and hopefully we'll get something better than House of the Dead.

I don't know why, but the image you posted looks really much alike those in Max Payne 1&2, in the storystripes.
Am I right or am I right?

@ Rorschach:

Grant Morrison's run on Animal Man was so damn awesome.

Grant's Animal Man run in the 90's is what made me the comic book geek I am today . Thank you Grant!

I think this should be interesting, The Invisibles had some extremely freaky Area-51-ish stuff in there.

We3 was also pretty great, dealing with secret government projects.

I just hope he manages to 'dilute' his writing as some of the stuff in comic books was extremely convoluted and twisted. Not something the general moviegoer will get or enjoy I think.

In Grant's defense, he has written more mainstream comics in the past years, JLA' Xmen, Batman, so this should be interesting indeed.

Yeah, hopefully the fact there is LITERALLY NOTHING about the Area 51 game that ever seemed made it seem like it could be a cool movie will work in our favor, giving Grant free reign.

That said, though, Garth Ennis is one of the most amazing comic writers alive, and apparently his original screenplay for a Preacher feature film was a disaster. So who knows.
