Grandia was my first Saturn game. I have yet to finish it due to it's difficulty, however I enjoyed every moment of it. It's always sad to hear a passing of an excellent member of the gaming side

I accidentally bought Grandia new when I confused it for another game. Man, luck was with me that day.

That's really sad. It always sucks to lose a man who influenced other great games to be made. RIP Takeshi.

While I havn't played the Grandia(s) it has been on my to do list for some time. Its sad that news like this is likely what will spark the drive to do so.

Grandia II was one of my favorite games of all time. It was the RPG that made me crave something creative and different.

don't want to make this more about Grandia than Miyaji himself, but it certainly was an important game and while it's sad for anyone to die so young, it's even more sad to have lost someone that helped to progress a genre that's brought me a lot of pleasure.

Grandia 1 and 2 are two of my favorite RPGs of all time. And although most people don't care for 3, I still found quite a bit of enjoyment in it. :)

I never really played Grandia since I downloaded it, found the voice acting atrocious, and turned it off after 10 minutes (I'll come back to it some day) but his work is very popular among many people. R.I.P.
He'll be greatly missed, Grandia is one of the greatest games I've ever played. It's battle system alone puts modern RPGs to shame.
Though I played Grandia 2 years ago, I only played Grandia 1 for the first time at the start of this year. Even though the story and characters were pretty cornball, the Grandia battle system is totally genius. That's the way to handle turn-based battles - factoring in distance, size of a spell's AoE, the potential to cancel enemies' actions, and even movement speed. I wish someone would just take the Grandia series battle system wholesale and put it into another JRPG.

i like project silpheed for 360. havnt really seen anything else like it in awhile. unless i just dont know of it, anyone?
Okay, I thought Grandia 1 was just okay. I haven't beaten the final boss yet, but the game itself is just all right. The story and characters are meh but the battle system is what makes the game. RIP
I played and beat Grandia 2 for the first time a few months ago on a dreamcast emu and I enjoyed it thoroughly considering its over a decade old now.

Very sad. My best to his family and loved ones. He will be remember as the creator of the two of the greatest RPGs ever.
Sad to hear. His legacy will definitely live on through his games and I'm sure many other things fans aren't even aware of. Rest in peace.
:( Grandia was what got me into gaming. I remember my kid self was super crushed when I took it back to the video hire place and never saw the game again. RIP dude.
