With the release of Grand Theft Auto IV: Episodes From Liberty City, Rockstar has declared that this is the end for Liberty City, the game's New York-inspired location. In the manual for the freshly released game, a teaser page bears the message: "Liberty City! It's Over!" Underneath that message is the phrase: "Next Stop."
The image has a pretend rip in the paper, "revealing" the location underneath it. However, all that's pictured is a small bit of landscape and the word "seagull," which gives us no clue whatsoever as to where the next location may be. That said, wasn't Vice City supposed to be famed for its beach, upon which there CAN BE SEAGULLS SOMETIMES!? My journalism sense is tingling ...
Where do you think the "next stop" for Grand Theft Auto will be? Are we returning to Vice City, will we be skipping straight to San Andreas, or does Rockstar have something entirely new up its sleeve? Let the rudderless speculation begin!

Are there seagulls in London? During 1969?
I RAN SO FAR AWAY
That might be an interesting concept...
This would prove interesting from Rockstar, as you might have the ability to island hop, each offering something different.
GOOD HEAVENS!
Can't wait :D
I don't care where it as, so long as it's not in magic-cars-drive-like-boats-land again.
Also if this doesn't come to the PS3 at the same time as the 360 version i will not buy another GTA game. Timed exclusive (called "exclusive" by Liecrosoft) bullshit is ruining the gaming industry.
And please, please, PLEASE Rockstar...if you're going to one quarter ass online MP like you did with GTA IV, then just leave it on the cutting room floor. GTA IV's online MP is a bad, bad joke.
That being said, Vegas deserves it's own GTA. San Andreas doesn't count...Vegas shouldn't have to split GTA with San Fran and LA. GTA Vegas, baby.
Engage.
Change the car handling though - clay tires are not as much fun as rubber tyres.
GTA London/Paris/Berlin/anywhere in Europe would be cool...
Not that it really makes a difference either way, but HOW exactly do timed exclusives ruin the videogame industry?
Or at least Hong Kong. That would be fresh and new and funny, I think.
GTA now seems to be squarely about satirizing American for most of its material. Roasting another country would be really fascinating (Yeah, I think I'd REALLY enjoy a London-type city), but I feels unlikely, business model wise.
come on Jim.. it HAS to be!?
GTA Neo Tokyo [akira] would be amazing! not many seagulls though :(
I wish I could come up with something. San Andreas and London both sound like good guesses but Vice City sounds like the best.
I'd really love a 1969 remake though. Just to play the era.
@Bigmoose85
San Andreas always reminded me of Baltimore. Minus the huge stretches of farmland of course.
Grand Theft Auto: Seattle might have some dull scenery, but would be rich in character parodies of Bill Gates and Nintendo.
The musical possibilities are obvious.
It's probably Vice City again though. Yawn.
it's causing a high percentage of (mainly young, non blog reading) gamers belive that certain games are only available on one platform, when they are actually just timed. This skews purchasing decisions for consoles in a non-truthful way.
Takes advantage of the idea of a free market.
If 3 kids in one class say the new GTA is 360 only, how many of their mates are going to ask mummy and daddy for a 360 over a PS3 that year?
i heard on the Radio (Radio 1, UK's main station) today that the DJ had spoken to lazarus of GTA radio fame and was asking if "The New GTA" - by which he meant the Gay Tony add on, would come to PS3! - This clearly makes out that PS3 is missing out on major games and does not help the popular myth that the PS3 haz noe gaymz.
----> less sales ----> less support -----> fewer games for me!
An old tyme gangster story. Tommy guns and all. It could be epic, possibly even film noir style (or a parody, of course)
I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
Also, this game would FOR SURE be banned here, because the "authorithies" thinks that the only ones who can say bad things about Brazil are us Brazilians, the gringos can say only "Cristo, Caipirinha, Bunda, Carnaval, Feijoada e Olimpiadas".
Hipocrisy? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! =P
