Sony is developing a film adaptation of Polyphony Digital's long-running Gran Turismo series, reports TheWrap. Let that sink in, because there's not much else to go on at this point in time other than the involvement of producers Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti (The Social Network)
I can see the Need for Speed movie working if for no other reason than I've always just pretended that the Fast and the Furious series was based on those games, but Gran Turismo requires slightly more imagination on my part. That said, it's cars. It's a known franchise. We're done here, right? No wonder this project is (reportedly) happening.
