Gran Turismo 5 to grace Europe next Christmas

Gran Turismo 5 to grace Europe next Christmas photo
     PS3

Europeans can begin jumping with glee (or at least pulling out those MadCat steering wheels out of the closet) because it seems likely that Gran Turismo 5 will be coming just in time for next Christmas. James Armstrong, Sony’s big man in southern Europe, recently told Spanish newspaper El Financiero (via GTPlanet) that the racing simulation “will arrive at Christmas.”

The possibility of poor translation aside, the coming of Gran Turismo 5 will finally spell the end of Gran Turismo Prologue, which has been prefacing the daddy release since April 15, 2008 in the United States. Armstrong gave no indication of US or Japan release, but it is probably safe to say that it will make an appearance in both countries.

Polyphony Digital’s Kazunori Yamauchi has said nothing to this effect, and hinted earlier this summer that fans shouldn’t expect GT5 until 2010. That shouldn’t deter our excitement though. The one thing Yamauchi can’t take from us is our hopes and dreams.

I want Duke Nukem to be the driver. Jesus this is late. Surely this game, pretty as it may be, must be HUGE embarrassment to Sony.

Seeing as how I bought Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and played it enough to get bored I'm good in the GT area of gaming.

Thanks, but no thanks.

I usually get real excited for Turismo games but I've been waiting for this one for so long its lost pretty much all of its appeal. Yes I know its pretty and will most likely be the end all be all of racing sims this gen, but its been too long of a wait.

Also, I was so stoked to get into the HOME beta, then after I tried it for about 20 mins I thought to myself "what the hell are you doing, go play an actual game." And I started it up once for the newer update and haven't been there since. After a while its just so bleedin boring.

Does anybody care anymore? This is at least a year away for the fifth simulation racing game in a series.

How long has it actually been? They have lost the crown of best driving game down to trying to perfect the game, heck sony long a PS3 sale for it! So glad i bought my 360 instead of wait for GT5!

i'll get it when it comes out and am glad they are trying to make it perfect, you don't put a date on perfection, it took einstien years to prove his theory of relativity was right and when it was he won a nobel for an earlier theory. too many of the same racers come out year after following year.

Will it be graced with a decent physics model, too?
