Yup, you missed the point, that was.... both games are impressively huge! The trick in cases like this, with massive games is to have all the most commonly used items installed on the hard drive, and the rest read from the optical one. For some games it does work very well (let's say in GoW3 they put on the HDD the enemies and everything related to Kratos, while the maps and videos are read from the bluray) with games that go mix and match like a racing game.... well. If i decided to play with a Panda angainst a Corvette on the Nurburgring, there would be pretty much nothing in common (trees aside, god, in GT trees never look very good XD ) with say, a kart race.
looks like i'll need to hook up that 320gb hard drive i bought for $35 from target. (i have the 60gb ps3)
forza had a lengthy install, wasn't too bothered. (it shipped on 2 discs)
having JUST recently played kz2's campaign, those stuttering loading screens was a real buzzkill. Not that kz2 was great to start with, but those freezing screens honestly made the experience a lot worse. the 50 minute investment will be worth it.
Seeing as the PS3 is a lot quieter and has blu-ray discs, I'm truly outraged by this news.
(Not really, GT5 is fucking bollocks)
I agree with Dale: "Big fucking deal..."
You just need a HDD 2.5 inch. 5200 or 7200 rpm. ! Easy to find and any store and easy to install.
Just the transfer can be hard to do ( first time i did it, i forgot to transfer my DLC and saved data :( xD )
BTW People like Sofik88 are stuck up, people that don't appreciate effort and work, people that like to stick to a "pretty mediocre" console and play only one game -Halo. That pretty sums it up. You can stick with the 360, but don't dis the others - it just makes you look uncool and like a dumb fk.
I read your comment. And while I do not own a PS3 or have any interest in GT5, I feel that you are a gentleman and a fine investigative journalist!
Whilst I appreciate your point, Polyphony aren't Bioware or Obsidian.
As much as I loved Fallout 3, & am enjoying New Vegas, both are a bunch of broken crap released by companies with no quality control, & somebody needs a good kicking.
I haven't played a buggy Gran Turismo title yet, & with Polyphony's obsession with perfection, I'd be a little bit shocked if GT5 was buggy, even in this "it's acceptable to release it before it's finished" gaming society we live in today.
...just what the hell is it doing to take 50 minutes to copy across 10GB?
Seriously?
