I played Prologue for about two minutes before I took it out of the tray. I'm not pressing X to accelerate.
@Byronic Man: I think he means it's stupid to press X to accelerate now that we've got actually triggers.
I have a terrible feeling people are going to be underwhelmed by this game when it finally comes out. Of course fans of the series will love it, but after Forza 3 was so good, I am wondering what GT5 is going to do catch the spotlight again.

if theyre having this much trouble with a racing game and its 5 years and counting something doesnt add up, its going to suck.
As bad as it sounds, it almost seems like they're just polishing a turd. There's no way a racing game can take 5+ years to make, especially when Turn 10 can make three of equal or greater value in less time for Polyphony to make one.

And I second Magesx. There's pretty much no excuse for the game taking so long, when Turn10 have easily proven that they are a very worthy competitor by releasing 3 stellar games, the latest of which can be directly compared to GT5, in the space it's taken Polyphony to make ONE.

I guess i just noticed that alot of people dont even realize that the face buttons are analog and that X has been acceleration for gt games for a decade now.
those young whipper snappers who just started playing racing games on xbox and think that thats the default analog acceleration option. I was using an analog X button for acceleration in GT3, yeah the range of motion is barely discernable for most. but it did have "255 degrees of sensitivity"

How does the length of time equal, problems? It took 4 years between GT 3 and GT 4. I think as the series progresses they focus on much more detail which equals longer dev cycle. *shrug* I've always enjoyed the realism and while I'm not a driving "nut" so I may not appreciate all the level of detail put into it, I still think each release has been a good one. I haven't tried GT PSP yet though.

I don't know. As a long time fan of the Gran Turismo series who has converted to forza. Polyphony defiantly has a lot to prove to me. Sure GT5p looked great but I thought the cars handled as though they weighed 1000lbs less than they should.
Hopefully if they can do things like realtime weather and time of day I would go ape shit. Also I would like to call this being pushed back to April or may for japan maybe and very likely to be an October or November release for the US. Polyphony has delayed a game after it has gone gold before.

The graphics for this game make Forza 3 look like it was hand - drawn by a blind, retarded Monkey. Then again, the same goes for most PS3 exclusives versus their "Competition". I feel sorry for anyone who actually thinks Forza is good.......if you compare the sales figures for the two franchises, Forza is merely a waste of time at best.
Is it just me or do these screens look like crap? The tracks always look so plastic and artificial in every screen/video I've seen of this game.
