Gotta love that 2D HD animation for PS3 RPG Tokitowa

Aug 23 // Dale North    @DaleNorth

Namco Bandai has released a new gameplay trailer (yes, gameplay this time!) for upcoming PS3 RPG Tokitowa today, and it's so smooth and detailed that it looks like you're watching anime. I guess that's the selling point, though. Well, that and the fan service with the cute anime girls.

Still, RPG fan or not, you have to admit that the animation in the battle clips in this video are pretty slick. So many of us have watched animated cutscenes in past role-playing games and have thought that games would someday look them. Now is that time.

Given how incredible the hand drawn art on top of 3D looks, I can get over the shallow-sounding story. But, if fan service is your kind of thing, be sure to check out the gallery to see some slightly NSFW screenshots.

If the rumors are right, an English translation of Tokitowa is already in the works.
