Google removes cheeky Triforce from logo photo

Last week, obsessive-compulsive gamers discovered a number of hidden Triforce symbols that had been smuggled into Google's logos by artist Susis Sahim.

The artist in question was commissioned to produce a number of images for the popular Search Engine, and threw in the easter eggs due to being a massive fan of the games. Unfortunately for her art, Google is not a massive fan of potential lawsuits from Nintendo, and the potentially infringing images have since been removed

It was cool that Sahim put the work there, but this is why we can't have nice things. Next time we find a cool easter egg like that, we need to keep our big, collective mouths shut!

What the heck? It was such a dinky small crudely drawn triforce image, that's all. I really don't think it's lawsuit worthy.

Uhh... That wasn't supposed to happen!

Anyhow, logos schmogos. It's 3 triangles of 1 color and an upside (invisible) triangle in the middle.

If anything, Nintendo should feel thankful for the free viral marketing!

Um, wut? That symbol has been around far longer than the Zelda games.

You know, if Nintendo can notice tiny little things like that you might think they would notice all the people in North America foaming at the mouth for Mother 3 and Earthbound on the Virtual Console.

Not to mention it's used all over in Japan from things like insanely old temples and castles to company logos. Think Google is overreacting a bit here.

If Nintendo were to sue Google, they'd have to also sue quite a number of famous mathematicians and geometrists.

Also,

Probably cost Susis his/her job as well, or at least no more work commissioned from them.

Good going.

You have to give Nintendo credit, they revolutionized the triangle. Anybody that doesn't appreciate what Nintendo has done is clearly not a fan of shapes.

Just like dip said, Nintendo didn't invent the symbol lol. Been to a couple of temples that had the triforce symbol.

@Cadtalwhozawha - that's been talked about to death. It'd be hard to localize Mother 3 so they wouldn't get sued. References to pop culturre, for example.

Take a look, it's in a book(website)

Come on, Nintendo wouldn't and couldn't sue because of an image of three generic triangles stacked together. Google perhaps just wasn't thrilled by the idea that a reference to another company's franchise was secretly embedded in their own logo.

That's free marketing, I don't think Nintendo would react. It would be *VERY* stupid to turn down a free advert by google..
