Good Old Games nabs Rebellion plus other assorted goodies photo

It's been far too long since we have talked about Good Old Games, but that has more to do with me being unfamiliar with many of the DRM-free service's recent additions than anything else. My experience with many of these games is sadly lacking, but not today.

GOG.com brings us word that Rebellion is now part of the team, which means Evil Genius ($9.99) and Ground Control ($5.99) are now downloadable, with Lords of Magic: Special Edition, Empire Earth: Gold Edition, and more in the pipeline. Could we see Aliens Vs. Predator down the road? I really hope so.

My memory is a little bit hazy, but I distinctly remember loving the idea behind Evil Genius, but not the execution so much. I get the feeling I probably didn't take the necessary time to learn how to play correctly, and in turn my opinion is misinformed. Perhaps I should go back and give the game another chance?

It's also worth noting that a 20% off TopWare promotion is happening on the digital distribution service, which means plenty of cheap games to be funded by the spare change in your couch.

Definitely picking up Evil Genius. Great game and glad it will now run smoothly on my Vista machine.

Evil Genius had a really cool art direction, and building a base was really fun. I kinda remember some stuff being a little wonky and unintuitive though.

The problem with Evil Genius was that a single super agent could basically ruin your base. Which would set you back about 30 minutes. This happens roughly every 30 minutes.

I just noticed on the website you can sort games by rating... but you have 2 choices: 4 stars or above, and 5 stars.

Surely all those games weren't 8/10 material or above?
