Good Old Games fist bumps Epic, adds Unreal series to its catalog photo

Boy, the Unreal Tournament (and to a lesser extent, Unreal) games really bring you back, huh? That's why I'm happy to report on Good Old Games' partnership with Epic which will bring select titles from the Unreal series to the DRM-free service.

As you can see here, Unreal Gold and Unreal Tournament: GoTY Edition are already up for purchase at $9.99 each, with Unreal 2 and UT2004 on the horizon.

If I didn't already own a copy of UT2004, I would be all over this; there's nothing quite like fragging someone with a Flak Cannon six inches away from their face.

How about the rest of you? Do any of these games pique your interest?

Unreal Tournament 99 was amazing back in the day. Too bad Unreal Tournament 3 sucked.

UT in general was a lot better of a series imo even tho all the UT games were made to be an after effect to the bread winning awe-inspiring unreal games..

also, how was UT3 any worse or better then 99 or 2004? or even that dreamcast version.. ? i likes them all equally cause they are fast and shiny. and flac cannon shots to an up close face are pretty much the most satisfying kills you can get in any kind of FPS..right above a sniper double kill :]

My names UnrealClock, so obviously. My serial key for my many copies of the Unreal franchise have died out. Time for a new purchase!

I think UT3 lost its thunder to Gears of War. It seems like one forth of their team worked on it, and the rest were focused on Gears.

If you bought all 4 unreal games on here, you'd pay $40. Instead of that, just go buy the Unreal Anthology, which contains all 4 games, plus a soundtrack CD, for like $10 on amazon. I actually snagged it for $5 from gogamer. I'm sorry, but GOG fucked up on this one. They arent even offering any real bonus materials with them.

Oh man, UT3 is pure shit. UT99 and UT2004 are all that matters. UT2003 had no improvements whatsoever, and the minigun and flak cannon are way too powerful.

UT Anthology is definitely the way to go. Its dirt cheap and has everything you need.

they gave me Unreal Anthology free with UT3... so now i own like 4 copies of every game.

I don't like the way Unreal Anthology installs and ut99 is missing it high res texture disc,...

I'm with you, if I didn't already own them all, I'd grab them now. DRM-Free is awesome!

You can buy every Unreal game in a pack off steam for 40 bucks, that includes UT3.

Eh, UT99 was the pinnacle of my gaming life. I played it for a few years, in our "best times" we trained almost every day for a few hours. It was kinda crazy and funny, but maybe a bit too crazy ;).

Oh man, Unreal Gold... My disc is so old it's unreadable now, so I might be tempted... One of the best early FPS. Good art direction, GIGANTIC FUCKING WORLD, the birth of the flak cannon... Oh man oh man.

@ CaptainApocalypse, the retail discs for all these games didn't have any DRM in the first place.

The original unreal was such a goddamned cool game. It's a shame the sequel was total balls.

Classic! Thank the gaming gods for Unreal Tournament. Such an amazing style of in your face adrenaline pumping FPS multiplayer deathmatch.

The Unreal games were alright, but the team play tournament style was so much more fun.

After merely playing the demo of UT2004... I thought I'd finally buy UT3.
Thing is my computer hates it (it crashes very often) and it looks WAAAAY to ugly and gray. The gameplay is ok, especially when it comes to vehicles...
But I'm starting to miss those days spent with the UT2004 demo.

I'd gladly put down 15$ for it! UT2004 is like the pinnacle of all UT games. Its near perfect.

I don't think the story here so much is the Unreal series but the fact they have an agreement with Epic to sell some of their older games.

I played all the UTs since day 1, and I think UT3 is the best of the lot, after the original.

I am just saying.
