Good Old Games finally goes Postal photo

Developer Running With Scissors has joined Good Old Games, which resulted in a couple of things happening. First, the original isometric Postal: Classic and Uncut is available for $5.99, and secondly, Postal 2 will be released within the next few weeks or so.

There's always been controversy surrounding Postal, whether it's caused from the games being banned, or even the Uwe Boll-directed movie. But how many of us have actually played either of the two games before? I know I haven't. It seems like this could be the prime opportunity to get in on that action, doesn't it?

This weekend's GOG promo, which runs until this Monday, is 25% off a bundle containing Stronghold and Stronghold: Crusader. If you love building virtual cities as much as I do, read more about the deal here.

I liked Postal. I remember playing the hell out of the demo on my old Gateway computer. The second one.. ah it wasn't that great.

I played a couple of minutes of Postal 2 when I was much younger.

I remember that you had to piss on yourself to stop yourself from being on fire, and I remember knocking around a dog's head with a shovel.

Ah Postal 1. My brother and I would play that game on our old Macintosh. The hand drawn scenes were actually quite awesome. It was kinda hard to control the character from what I remember. Almost Resident Evil 1-ish. It was fun, but got boring kinda quick.

I started playing postal 2 this year. It is funny, but yea the loading times are crap and the game makes you do way too much traveling from one objective to the other. The cut scenes are funny tho, and the only reason I will force myself to finish the game. Plus, garey coleman is in the game.

I've played Postal 2. It's a decent parody FPS. Nothing to write home about, but had some notable things with the AI. The fire looked neat, too. I do remember putting the fires out by peeing on them.

i play postal 2 if i want to pour petrol on a disco full of people, flick a match at them, then piss on the burning corpses.

if i want to play a good videogame i look elsewhere.

I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but the Postal movie wasn't...actually...all that bad. It totally went off the rails toward the end but I was laughing my ass off during the job interview scene.

Ah I remember this game, I had so much fun just wasting time in the first and second games. Sadly the second opted out for more low-brow humor rather then being a psychological horror game.

Postal 2 is friggin classy , pissing on people , the eletrifying them , them as they trow up put gasoline on them , them put them on fire , then take out the fire with your pee, then , when they're roasted already but alive you eletrify them again , them put them on fire and quickly use the shovel to take the head off , the go playing soccer with the head.

I played the original postal demo a helluva lot when I was but a wee lad. I also remember that particular screenshot. First I seem to remember it looking a lot better, and second for some reason I though it was a fucking marching band.

I bought Postal 1 and 2 and the expansion packs, and had a fun time with both. They're undeniably twisted, and downright sickening in some places, but the satire is cutting and the second game broke more than a few technical and design barriers.

I still have postal 1 and 2 installed on my computer. I havent really played postal 1 alot but postal 2 is actually really fun and considering the time it was released has really good graphics. the gameplay itself still holds up to this day. also you should try out the mods for postal 2 if you get a chance

Postal 2: I'll never forget finding Osama Bin Laden in the 'bomb-building' section of the library. One of the early rag-doll games, and boy you could have a lot of fun with them. Also the last level, where literall the whole town 'goes postal' was absolute carnage-candy. Not a great game, but a great time playing it.
