Quantcast

We've already talked in depth today about GoldenEye 007 thanks to our recent interview on the game, but maybe you weren't quite sure about exactly how the game was being reworked. Developer interview video to the rescue!

Above you will find the devs discussing all sorts of things like how they've updated the game, and how they're working on making the AI stand out. Hopefully it's not just a bunch of PR talk and we'll actually get an impressive shooter out of the game. With so much being reworked this will definitely be a new experience for us to play through, but will it stand up to the legend that is the original game?

Looks like they're shaping up quite an impressive shooter.

For the Wii.

"but will it stand up to the legend that is the original game?"

Was that a joke, lol?

I'm still not sold on this game at all, I loved the original and I know how badly it has aged last time I tried playing it with friends a few months ago so reworking the game so its playable again I'm all for! As long as they pull that off while keeping the feel of the original I'll probably pick it up.

See, we had a fun, quality game on our hands, but we're activision, so we ruined it with modern sensibilities.

Also, Daniel Craig. Fuck him.

"but will it stand up to the legend that is the original game?"

Of course fucking not. Asking questions like that is what over hypes people in the first place. It can cause a great game (ex Twilight Princess) to appear mediocre.

It cant be a remake with the changes they have made already so technicaly its a new Golden Eye not a remake anyone who argues that is an idiot. So will it stand up to Golden Eye 64 maybe but it will never be Golden Eye 64.

i'm sorry but a "remake" should only be cosmetic and not add or take away from what the original great.

think of all the remakes they've done already that have failed by adding or subtracting.
bionic commando cosmetic remake = great
new bionic commando retail = horrible

resident evil = great
resident evil gamecube remake = horrible

if you want to remke a game in hd, the integrity of the original must be preserved!

this is why a ff7 remake would be either great or horrible, because if they add or substract anything from it thats not cosmetic, its not a remake, only a retelling of its story and should not be called ff7 but perversion fantasy 7.

you can't call anything a remake if its anything more then cosmetic.
if you plan to remake that peanut butter & jelly sandwich you ate yesterday and add bannanas and peach preserves, guess what, its not a godam remake of the peanut butter and jelly sandwich you ate yesterday.

i'm trying too hard.

Only decent remakes I've played were the Final Fantasy DS games. Which were awesome, btw.

@wtfsoko: This is not a remake. The word you're looking for is "re-imagining". They've changed several things, some major.

That trailer got me pretty stoked - should be worth checking out!
