Sony has announced the God of War III Ultimate Edition, and you'd better make some room for this one -- it's massive.
The ultimate edition comes in a sculpted replica of Pandora's Box, as well as a Limited-Edition God of War art book with exclusive art, content, and interviews. There's also a bunch of digital content packed in, all of which will be available via the PlayStation Network after redeeming a voucher code at
- God of War Combat Arena containing an exclusive environment and seven challenges
- Premium Kratos Skin – Dominus
- God of War: Unearthing the Legend Franchise Documentary – a full-length movie documentary depicting the history of the God of War franchise
- God of War Trilogy Soundtrack – God of War, II, and III scores from the game (mp3 digital download).
- God of War: Blood and Metal EP – a heavy metal homage featuring original music inspired by God of War (mp3 digital download).
This massive collection of God of War goodies will run you $99.99.
Also announced have been pre-order details. Order from GameStop.com, get a "Phantom of Chaos" skin for Kratos. Order from GameCrazy, you'll get a "Forgotten Warrior" skin. Finally, ordering from Amazon will get you a -- wait for it -- Kratos PlayStation Home Avatar "Apollo" skin.
Images of the GameStop and GameCrazy Amazon pre-orders can be found after the jump. You'll just have to imagine what a Kratos PlayStation Home Avatar looks like for now.
[Update: Sony had made an error in its initial announcement -- Amazon pre-orders will not get a Kratos Home Avatar. They will get the Apollo skin. Given the mix up, we checked with Sony to see if a Kratos Home Avatar would be offered through other means, and were told there are no plans "at this time." Boo!]
Amazon, "Apollo" skin

GameStop, "Phantom of Chaos"

99$ is not that bad of a deal, is there any news on a similar thing for PAL territories?
Time to pop my pre-order cherry.
ODST special edition was 120 dollars in Mexico
So this will probably be around 180 - 200 dollars in Mexico. God, I love taxes.
I really like the idea of including replicas of in-game items as part of a deluxe edition. I'm still holding out for a Gran Turismo Deluxe Edition that comes with a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren.
Yessss. I was so thinking that.
I'm such a whore for these things...
For $100, I can't say I'm all that interested, though. All I'd want is the Arena, which I'm sure will be available to everyone for some additional cost later on. The same can likely be said for the skins.
A documentary and several soundtracks can all be found online shortly after, so I'll just go ahead with the regular edition.
Soundtracks = 30$? (10$ x 3)
Documentary = 5$?
DLC = 10$?
Box = 10$?
These are complete UNDER estimates, so for 100$, you get at LEAST 115$ worth of stuff. If you over estimate, you could easily reach 150$ of goodies.
This is awesome and I want it now!
This better come to New Zealand to or I swear I'm gonna nuke a small country...
any word if this is going to be worldwide? or just US?
Plus, you can put your weed in there.
WIN. Also helps that it drops soon after I'll be receiving my tax refund. Chuuuuuuch.
Having said that, will it be available in PAL territories?
I dunno where you live, but have you heard of the store Sunrise records. Anyways they have Sunrise's here in St. Catherines, Ontario and I have seen a Kratos God Of War action figurine. Complete with Medusa head and Blades of Chaos. I also think it was an official sony product. They also had some Resident Evil 4 figures as well. So it does exist, maybe you could try ebay or stop by a local Sunrise if there is one close to you. Its also a great music and movie shop.
