Everybody's favorite Ghost of Sparta will be donning the Blades of Chaos and cutting Gorgon heads off next month, when a God of War III demo comes to the PlayStation Network. Here's the catch, though -- despite being a Western-developed game, this will be for Japanese customers only.
Annoyingly, obtaining the demo won't just be a case of logging into your obligatory Japanese PSN account, locating the demo, and downloading it. Sony has confirmed that this demo is part of a promotion to help sell copies of inFAMOUS, which launches in Japan today. The demo needs to be unlocked with a code that comes in the inFAMOUS box.
The demo will be available on November 19, and Sony is yet to confirm any details for we filthy Roundeyes.
Once again, Sony has made my life bad. This is punishment for me laughing at the PSPgo, I know it.

Poor sods, having to buy InFaMoUs just to try out GOW III. Im content to just accecpt the fact its going to be the most eye meltingly good game ever made, sure a demos nice, but like Batman, it will make the game seem further away.
Obviously I am wrong to presume this. Demos should be secret and exclusive, like the freemasons.
I didn't rate the InFamous demo, and despite being a PS3 fanboy, I enjoyed Prototype more.
But still GoW is going to melt faces, eyes, and ears everywhere, i just wouldn't but Infamous to get an early look.
the GoW pack though, fuck yes.
I'm thinking that GoW Collection comes packed with a code for us roundeyes.

And anyway, Sony hasnt said that we're not getting a demo. Relax dude, Im sure Sony will release a demo for this game for us. They'd be foolish not to.
I think you're taking this ten times more seriously I am. I think the whole demo limiting thing is counterproductive and stupid but I'm not crying about it. The final comment was one offhand joke and didn't really warrant that rebuttal.
I really, really want to play God of War III though.
Fair enough, I'm running off a severe lack of sleep, so I dont really get humor today. I would agree that withholding the demo would be counterproductive, and realistically that's why I don't think that Sony is really going to deny us roundeyes the demo. The comment was less in response to the last little joke though, and more to the second and third paragraphs.
For the record, I actually liked the PSPGo joke though. I'd argue the inferior PS3 version of Bayonetta is your punishment for that :P
I imagine God Of War III will sell me with the demo, just like the GoW II demo sold me on that game. If the first level is more epic then fighting the Colossus of Rhodes, we should be in for a treat.

I know I'm in the minority here (and I'm not trolling, just commenting), but if I had been able to play the demo for the PSP's Chains of Olympus first it would have made me NOT buy the full game. Unfortunately, I instead purchased it at full price based on the hype and realized that it just wasn't my type of game.
So all I'm saying is, for some people, demos can be a godsend (pun intended)!
Granted that in the days of the Playstation 1 you had to but magazines to get demos, but this is a different age. We have the internet, there is no excuse for making us buy something to get a demo than just to be greedy like this.
