I know what you're thinking. No sh*t, Sherlock. God of War III is a really violent game, lots of bones get broken in it. I would agree. A post about God of War III being violent would be kind of idiotic at this point, but I'm not talking about fake bones, I'm talking about real ones. Some guy was playing GoW III so hardcore that he broke two fingers.
A doctor/reader over at Gizmodo sent in a radiograph showing off the broken hand and its two fractures. He also informed them that the patient came in after getting "so caught up in playing God of War III that he rolled over his hand with his knee and broke two fingers."
I've been sitting here for ten minutes trying to visualize how this even happened, but cannot think of a way where I would be holding a controller while playing a game and still be able to roll over my hand with my knee. I can only conclude that this man plays videogames in a very awkward position and must be some sort of contortionist. However he did it it doesn't look like he'll be beating the game any time soon.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Yeah, still doesn't explain this though.
Just my attempt at humor :P I honestly can't imagine how one could be positioned in a way to break their own fingers playing a game with a controller. Based on the image, I'm not doctor, but the only thing I can think of is he probably rested his knees on the controller and put too much pressure on his right hand, but again, no clue how this is possible.
in fact it was sayword from this site!!!!
I just beat it today, took two sittings, all night last night and all morning today.
Loved. Every. Fucking. Moment.
I'm not normaly a single player guy, but damn, i reckon it was the best sp game i've ever played.
Dantes inferno is nothing more than a fucking pissant compared to gow3, seriously put dante to shame.
No broken bones though - back to bad company 2.
You haven't played a lot of single player games then.
That "Gaming ruined my life" video probably applies to him.
P.S: Oblivion is the best single player game in this generation for me, I think I got 400h in that game before the 360 corrupted my files (it still won't load, lol)
I'd have to go with one of the gizmodo commenters; the closest I've come to injuring myself gaming was repeated rotation of the N64 analogue stick with my palm. Strange mechanism of injury...Unless he was crouched and leaning forwards then overbalanced or something.
sure it's not the deepest gameplay, but fuck me is it epic and straight up impressive!
My jaw was on the flaw the whole time.
Lysdexia fail.
fallout was good but i prefered gow, fallout despite being a really good game was a bit tedious and did'nt look too great, haven't played mass effect 1 or 2, didn't rate darksiders (only played 90 min demo) couldn't get into dragon age oranges (will buy, only rented) and borderlands, oh borderlands, it was a great game but the story was shit.
Gow just had it all, fun gameplay, great story, fantastic graphics, really sucked me in, love the setting, loved the characters, loved the scope and scale, impressed the shit out of me.
He broke a 2 bones while playing GoW 3, Kratos will be proud of him.
My best guess is that he's one of those weird gamers who plays games while kneeling and holds the controller close to the floor.
He broke his hard on for Kratos during the Poseidon kill scene.
It was probably the worst part of the gameplay, but it wasn't that bad.
I mean double jumping has been around a long time guys.
Best cover up? :p nothing could be more silly that this xD
the only game that BEATS YOU before you BEAT IT
Hahaha! I don't know what is funnier, this idot rolling over his hand or the thought of people sitting around trying to visulize it with really confused looks on their faces.
Let's all chip in and buy this same guy a Playstation Move. Maybe he'll decapitate himself.
