God of War: Collection has cover art now, Look at the cover art. Isn't it pretty or something?
North American consumers will have that cover art on their shelves before the year is out, but unfortunately for Europeans, there won't be a PAL release of the game compilation until 2010. According to Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, it's just not "possible" to launch a European version of the game this year.
"We are currently looking into options to bring God of War I and II to SCEE consumers on PS3; however it will not be possible to release the games this calendar year," explains a rep. "We will provide further information in due course."
I wonder when they decided to start making these remakes, if they don't have time to release a port in Europe. This must have been a really, really quick job decided late in the year if this is the case. Still, the PS2 generation was a generation when Europe had it far worse in terms of late releases, so at the very least, this could be considered an authentic last-gen experience for PAL consumers.
That's our Sony, always looking to add that extra resonant touch.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Why is it "not possible?"
Lazy bastards.
as for the PAL release this feels retro.
Not that I care that much about the collection but there can't be a sensible reason for this not coming to pal territories this year.
I'm so fucking moving.
I'll get it when it's cheaper.
Analog is dead, no matter what country you are living in.
Time for Europe to move up to the Digital age!
The only reason we're not getting this year is because they can't do there jobs and are completely inept.
WTF?
Thank god PS3 games are not region locked.
Why does Europe always get shafted? You guys should, ya know, fix that.
Maybe by the time it rolls around here, they'll have fixed the box art at least. We usually get nice covers compared to the American ones, so something good might come out of this.
though I will be picking this up I'm sure, never did play through the second, just watched my friend play it.
I literally bellowed with laughter.
Normally companies explain that they have to translate the games into every European language before they can release it in Europe, hence the delay.
That excuse isn't going to fly here, since both these games have been translated already, and they are just upscaling the graphics.
