I wouldn't mind having that Kratos figure and that's not really all that expensive for a CE. I'll probably snag this.

I love how we get information about a fucking collector's edition before we start getting some real information of the game (E3 didn't count). The mention of DLC passes just seals the deal on my not giving a damn too.

Yeah being a big GoW fan this price isn't bad at all. I'd get it just for the Kratos figurine. I already have Pandoras Box from GoW 3 so Kratos can stand right next to it.
I plan on finally checking out those 2 God Of War PSP titles. After that, I believe I'm done with the franchise. And not because of the MP or DLC, the games have just become super stale.
I was hoping with it being yet another prequel, they would try for when Kratos didn't have the Blades of Chaos. That they would give him his bare fists, a spear, double swords and horseback as weapons. Where he would fight in these ginormous open areas against human enemies and occasionally some ancient beast.
And at the end of the game, he would get the famous Blades of Chaos and decimate the final boss area with them.
But nope. We get more of the same, albeit with a Wolfenstein (reboot) and/or Red Faction: Armageddon-ish structure rebuilding mechanic. YAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWN!

Outed? The CE was announced at E3, smart one. Plus, this has been on every retail site and store that sells games since E3. It was even discussed on the official PSBlog.

Sony has to find means of adding online passes to everything. Considering the financial state of other publishers, it's fairly unlikely they're making much of anything off the games themselves anymore.
Anyway, I was hoping this game would interest me. I'm a fan of the genre, but not the series so much. Multiplayer is just a big no no these days, considering I play Timespitters: Future Perfect online with people more than anything else. Ah well, guess the series just ain't my bag.

I love online but seriously...NOT EVERYTHING NEEDS ONLINE STOP IT NOW! God of War has never been one of those games I thought "Gee this needs online and dlc." Ugh oh well.
AssCreed, Uncharted and Mass Effect ought to have taught us by now not to jump on the "LOL MP" bandwagon so quickly. Give it a chance, boys.
I find my self sick and tired of the online multiplayer for EVERYTHING, there are some single player games that dont need that at all.

Toddy boy has got no fucking clue what the hell he is doing speaking as a fan of the series since I played the original ps2 2005 release I can safely say that I never asked for multiplayer for a bucket load of dlc or online passes if I buy this cheap excuse of god of war game I shall buy it used this might be the final god of war game I give a shit about
Hopefully it's actually "future to be announced" DLC, and not DLC left off of the disc to try and secure early sales.
Never really bothered with the series, so I'll probably pass on it, though even if I was invested in the series it's not an amazing collectors edition, it's not that much but still, an avatar pack? Really?
@Elijah: I disagree on Asscreed and ME. ME was fun in a good setting. Asscreed became one of my favorite mp experiencesof this gen. I'm optimistic this will be good. Not $80 optimistic, but about $40 optimistic.
I have some new info from a reliable source. He tells me the game will have various multiplayer modes, including "Head Puller", where you will compete against other people to see who can mash the circle button faster. There will also be "Passive Battle" mode, where you will fight against other players using only QTEs. He said there won't be a co-operative mode because apparently players were becoming furious with each other for stealing their kills and xp.
How'n the hell do you put multiplayer in god of war? Whoever mashes buttons harder wins?

If the statue is nice I'll definitely pick this up. Only 20 dollars more which seems like a decent deal, looking forward to seeing the package.
I can't wait for the new Mountain Dew flavor, Kratos Kooler, with codes for Double XP in God of War 3 and a chance to win a Kratos themed Jeep or something.
That said, if God of War didn't bore me to death this is a pretty decent deal. Although if it's anything like GoW3's CE, I'll find a pyramid of them for 30 dollars a few months after release anyway.

Honestly people, they are trying something different in a series that has been that same since the first game, the addition of multiplayer is so its not just the same singleplayer experience with a different story. GET THE FUCK OVER YOUR SELVES!
AssCreed's multiplayer is worthless, Uncharted took a turn for the worst in 3, and melee>gun, mass effect gets old real fast.

Oh and God of War 3 had DLC, nobody forget that fact. Basically the only new thing here is the Double XP and the fact the DLC is now for the multiplayer instead of just for Challenge of the Gods arena and character skins.
i think sony should have use the development time for this for Heavenly Sword 2 instead.
