God Eater gets ridiculously huge ten-level demo photo

Namco Bandai's not known for giving stuff away, but its upcoming God Eater demo is significantly substantial indeed, going so far as to include missions exclusive to the demo itself. The 150 MB file is a gameplay behemoth, containing ten missions and ad-hoc multiplayer.

Five tutorial missions, four exclusive missions and one challenge missions are provided in the demo. God Eater, as well as having a brilliant name, is Namco Bandai's answer to Monster Hunter. It looks a little heavy on the JRPG angst, but it has ridiculously oversized swords, so it can't be all bad.

Famitsu.com is handing out early demo access to its members, and it'll be available on PSN and online from November 26. Let me reiterate that it's called God Eater.

Why is it multiplayer ts always preceded by 'ad-hoc' lately on this site?

Genuinely curious.

That sword's design makes me think of Ragna's drive attacks in BlazBlue, which is a good thing.

I just like the name God Eater. Big swords are cool too.

How would you hit someone with the blade of that sword? Even for Japanese designs that seems a bit... impractical.

On a completely different note God Eater sounds cool, but Crystalis was called God Slayer in Japan. And God Slayer > God Eater.

@Rabite - God Eater > God Slayer. Think about it. Anybody can slay something. It takes somebody truly awesome to eat a god.

@ TripleZer0

Right, and since it says eater and not slayer, you have to assume they eat the god without slaying. So the god must STILL BE ALIVE WHILE THEY ARE EATING IT! So God Eater > God Slayer.

I agree, since it's not called God-Slayer-then-Eater, in which case is cooler than God Slayer but not against God Eater. Of course, God Slurper tops all, but I'm getting ahead of myself.

That girl is holding that colossal beast of a gun with ONE HAND.

Also, I hope that sword literally eats gods.

Solgrim: PSP? Sweet. About time the system gets more games. Um what do you mean games like this getting the console treatment? Almost everything worth a damn is on console. It's about time games like this get the handheld treatment.
