Global Offensive is Counter-Strike fans' Counter-Strike
Counter-Strike: GO was on full display at PAX. Jim, Max, and Tara got their hands on it and, no surprise, it's exactly what Counter-Strike fans want from a sequel to the legendary shooter. As you might expect, Valve has retained the same classic gameplay, but with a loving layer of polish and streamlining. It seems Valve isn't about to let modern niceties invade its shooter, and I love them for it. Did you know? You can now get daily or weekly email notifications when humans reply to your comments.
Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)I am really looking forward to play this, but I kinda expected VALVe to make an interesting story for it knowing how talented they are on that, but that's ok, CS has always been a tough game about aiming right and think fast online. When was Counter Strike released anyways? I always used to hear about it so much. I think I was only 5 or 6 (2000-1) when I first heard the name "Counter Strike". When was Counter Strike released anyways? I always used to hear about it so much. I think I was only 5 or 6 (2000-1) when I first heard the name "Counter Strike". I'm pretty sure Counter-Strike was released in 2000 as a Half-Life mod, just like Team Fortress, though that one was originally made on Quake. Can't wait for this, what's the release date and price. The psn/xbla release plan means the pricepoint shouldn't get in the way of battlefield 3 which I am also still very much looking forward to. Even on the ps3. After deciding not to go with Battlefield 3 due to Origin I am HUGELY anticipating this as my shooter of choice. I got in a few hours with CS:S this weekend despite the hurricane and it was just as fun and addictive as ever. I really can't wait for this to come out. The footage is killing me!! 4:30 PM on 04.26.2013 Operation Payback rewards Counter-Strike: GO map makersStarting with Operation Payback, Valve is putting together a series of limited-time updates that intend to help out Counter-Strike: Global Offensive map makers.
