Gifting App Store purchases now a possiblity photo

It appears that you can now give and receive App Store purchases. According to a MacRumors report, the Cupertino crew are notifying iTunes shoppers -- via a Terms and Conditions box -- that the option to "Gift" items has extended to the App Store, meaning you can finally hit someone with a copy of Plants vs. Zombies or even the equally addictive pseudo-tower defense game Trenches.

After taking the prompt to do so, you'll have to wade through a few menus and give the answer to important questions like "what's the recievers' e-mail?" and "do you want to send a message?" We suggest putting down "LL Cool J" in the latter box simply because, well, you can. Why wouldn't you?

More digital distribution channels need this sort of feature. It's amazing that they still don't have a way to do this on PSN or XBLA.

Indeed. It's insanely good on Steam. Really fun to get alert that your friend bought you a game or whatever.

Also, to Chen Lin:

Y'know it couldn't hurt LL Cool J to send me an ACTUAL PHYSICAL gift. Ever since Mr. Smith he acts like he doesn't appreciate me anymore.
