Ubisoft has shed some more light on another one of Ghost Recon Online's classes; this one focusing on the technological sabotaging prowess of the Specialist.
The Specialist class abilities centre mainly around support, by keeping the enemy's tech down or by giving your squad mates an extra shot at the target by deflecting oncoming enemy fire. The portable EMP generator, codenamed "Blackout", can disrupt enemy technology for a short time and also serves as a flashbang grenade, temporarily blinding any nearby opponents. The A.E.G.I.S. creates an energy field around the Specialist allowing them, and any squad mates within, slight protection from direct fire.
That A.E.G.I.S. gear sounds a little far fetched to me, but considering that one of the other featured classes has active camouflage I guess it isn't too out there. For players interested in giving the beta a shot, they can still sign up via the Ghost Recon Online website.
I still say this game is much better than Future Soldier. I've played GRFS twice yet I play this game a lot more frequently. Can't wait til more people get in so I can have reliable teammates. :D
Active camouflage is based on real tech that's being developed. Most likely we'll see (or won't if it works) real world applications in our lifetime. They say military tech is 10 years ahead of what the general public knows about.
@ Volks - So wouldn't it be reasonable to assume that the tech used in Killzone is based on the very same developing tech? I mean, the time period in Killzone is the future, right?
