Ghost Trick gets ported to iDevices photo

Capcom's giving gamers in Japan a few more options for playing Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, releasing the game for iPhone and iPod Touch this week.

The iDevice version will let you play the first two chapters of the game for free, much like a demo. Want more? You can buy sets of three chapters for 600 yen, or the whole shebang for 1500 yen.

The game is said to be a direct port of the Nintendo DS game, so where Japanese gamers decide to play it will be a matter of preference. Or perhaps it's a matter of price -- DS games usually cost upwards of 4000 yen, so the iDevice version seems like a steal.

No word yet on whether North America will see the iPort, but the DS version hits on January 11 and it looks great no matter where you'll play it.

Dropping a bit of cash here at my convenience and there to pick up different chapters as I complete them on the can on my iPod Toucher, for cheaper, sounds better than running to the store and picking up the full DS copy for $30, minimum, on a device I don't have with me at all times.

I love iGaming.

And I hate typing on it :D

*here and there at my convenience

I also forgot to add that the iDevice version can easily be patched in case there's an error - or the makers turn a large profit, and want to add more content.

After the very dissapointing Apollo justice, and miles edgeworth games, I hope this comes to America. Free two chapters approach is about the only good thing about downloadable games, but it is a really good thing.

I kinda liked Apollo justice for the story line. I enjoyed seeing Pheonix as a darker, and older man.

I can dig it. I'm more likely to have my iTouch on me then my DS so I would buy this.

Apollo Justice was great and the story was more about Phoenix than Apollo, and the Miles Edgeworth games where a good change for the series.

Eh, I think I'd still buy it for the DS even if I did have an iDevice. Does seem odd that it's so much cheaper, I wonder why. I hope this doesn't signal the beginning of iDevices overtaking actual handhelds. It'll be a sad day when the likes of Apple become better known for good handheld games than Nintendo.

Whatever gets it to more people. Sadly, I think I'm the only one who's preordered it at my local game stop.

Nintendo DS games trump iPhone ports every day of the week.
