Get your MAG recruitment kit and poster at...7-Eleven photo

Slurpee. Check. Old but still somehow tasty hot dog. Check. Big Gulp to wash down Slurpee and hot dog. Check. MAG recruitment kit and poster? Wait, what the hell?

7-Eleven shoppers can get some MAG goodies on their next visit, according to the PlayStation Blog. The "recruitment kit" is game details on the upcoming 256-player multiplayer title coming to the PS3, including a history of the Shadow War and detailed stats on the three private military corporations in the game. You'll also get a nifty game poster.

Good luck finding a 7-Eleven, though. They've spaced out to California and the upper half of the east coast and upper midwest. There's a few in the middle, but not enough.

I thought this was a preorder gift at first but this is a pretty good idea. Of course, I'm in Canada so we won't be getting this at all. But I did find out that our 7-Elevens now have PSN Cards as well....and that's why I can never go there with more than $20 again T_T

Man, it's such a shame that 7-11s are no longer around here anymore. I really wish I could get in on that sweet MAG swag (not really).

I've got fifteen 7-Elevens in almost a 3 mile radius around where I live, I have no idea what you're talking about.

Anyone know anything about whether or not this offer is available in Canada? I'm only half-interested in MAG (mainly because I'm not too sure 256 player matches could possibly work), but free stuff packaged with a Slurpie or something sounds good to me.

7-11 will typically give you much more than just a hot tasty pork sammich or MAG swag, you can often find yourself with new smells and odd homeless folks lingering about, underage kids tryingt to buy smokes, and if you're there on a thursday you might find yourself with a wicked case of salmonella depending on how long they've let those eggrolls spin on the hotdog wheel.

As much as I LOVE the idea of having a 256 man war game, I think this one will fail. Obviously I can't say for sure because it hasn't hit yet (nor will I because I don't own a PS3) but I just don't think the PSN will be able to handle it, even with dedicated servers. No I'm not saying XBL would handle it better (it would probably fail just as hard, if not harder), I'm saying PSN probably won't survive without immense lag. All opinion though. /rant

Great. Now I just need take the early ferry to Vancouver, drive around North Vancouver for an hour until I find a 7-Eleven, then pay the ridiculous ferry cost to come back home.
Yay.
