Get your Altair in my Prince of Persia, Assassin's Creed star offered as DLC photo

Today, Ubisoft announced that Altair would be making a special appearance in their upcoming game, Prince of Persia. It’s not Altair in the literal sense -- it’s a skin. In less exciting news, you can also have the opportunity to download the protagonist from Sands of Time.

To get the Altair skin, you’ll have to do a bit running around. First, register at Ubisoft’s official website. Then, after purchasing the title on December 3, you'll need to head back over to the site and register your gamertag or PSN screen name in conjunction with the game. You'll probably be prompted with a redeemable code for the outfit at this point. If you want the classic PoP skin, you’ll have to pre-order at your local GameStop to get a code that probably won’t work the first day the game comes out.

If you aren’t excited about the new Prince of Persia, you probably should be. It has an awesome art direction and features a non-invasive sidekick. I want to believe it, but I can't seem to drink enough to wipe those memories of Natasha from my brain.

The whole point of the redesigned Prince is to play as the redesigned prince, not double-jump-less Altair. Silly ubisoft, confirm expansion packs that contain levels instead of confirming DLC skins.

Yay, this is ultimate punishment for Altair, being in two good games so far that aren't his (which I thought was poop).

I'll clarify. But you have to wait until you purchase the game and it'll probably have some sort of code or registration form for it that you'll have to link your GT or PSN name to.

@Brad
Thanks, much appreciated. I pre-ordered it back in October when I heard that all the early copies would be limited edition.
Can't wait!

Didn't they say that all the DLC for this game would be significant, game-altering things?

This hardly seems to be either.

FTA: In less exciting news, you can also have the opportunity to download the protagonist from Sands of Time.

A shitty character from a shitty game versus an awesome character from an awesome game? I know which skin I'd rather use.

Jade, from Beyond Good and Evil. But failing that, the Sands Prince would be good too.

Why would anyone excited by a game that looks to have no challenge and has horrible art direction? Seriously, it's ugly as fuck!!!!

@hpv

I think most people here disagree with your "horrible art direction" statement. The game might still be challenging, lets just wait and see. I for one, am extremely excited about this game.

I find it comical that Altair gets the rub over the Prince from Sands of Time in terms of promotion and screens by Ubisoft.
