Get the jump on the Square Enix Jump Festa 2009 game lineup photo

Just in time for Christmas, Square Enix lines up their newest and hottest titles for Jump Festa 2009, a show that will take place on December 20, 2008.

The whole listing of what Square Enix will be showing there is listed at the official Japanese Web page, complete with handy little icons showing what will be playable (the controller icon) and what will be viewable-only (the film strip).

It looks like Dragon Quest and Kingdom Hearts will both be big focus titles. Do we need four Kingdom Hearts games, though? We're hoping to get our eyes on hot new footage of non-playable hits Star Ocean: The Last Hope (pictured above), Blood of Bahamut, and Final Fantasy XIII.

Playable titles:

  • Dragon Quest IX (DS)
  • Dragon Quest Monster Battle Road II (Arcade)
  • Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days (DS)
  • Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep (PSP)
  • Kingdom Hearts: Coded (Mobile)
  • Kingdom Hearts Mobile (Mobile)
Video only:
  • Lost Winds (Wii)
  • Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time (DS and Wii)
  • Star Ocean: The Last Hope (Xbox 360)
  • Blood of Bahamut (DS)
  • Final Fantasy XIII (PS3)
  • Final Fantasy Versus XIII (PS3)
  • Final Fantasy Agito XIII (PSP)
  • Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete (an updated Blu-Ray version of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children)
  • Parasite Eve: The 3rd Birthday (PSP)
  • Final Fantasy IV: The After (Mobile)
  • Dragon Quest Battle Road Moblie (Mobile)
  • Romancing SaGa (Mobile)
  • Crystal Defenders (iPhone 3G/iPod touch)
  • Dissidia: Final Fantasy (PSP)
  • Mahou no Ehon: Majo to Shoujo to Gonin no Yuusha (DS)
  • Chrono Trigger DS (DS)
  • The Last Remnant (Xbox 360)
  • Cid to Chocobo no Fushigina Dungeon Toki Wasure no Meikyu DS+ (DS)
  • Pingu no Waku Waku Carnival! (DS)
  • Snoopy DS: Snoopy to Chuugen Taichi ni Ei ni Iku! (DS)
Thanks to RPGamer for the list.

The FFXIIIs will be playable? I'm surprised. I thought those games didn't actually exist.

Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days is teh worst title I have ever seen square use and square has put out a mountain of suck since 1997 with all there ps1 crap.

Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days does not make any sense at all is it a fraction? is it almost 365 days but the other half of the game was cut out turning it into : 358/2 and the /2 is a bunch of crappy cutscenes?

It actually says non-playable, which means exactly the opposite as playable.

@killsmooth

The list confused me, what with the break and all the already released titles mixed in.

So does it seem like they have any plans to finally release FFIV: The After in English-speaking territories?

I'm cautiously optimistic about some of those titles. I'm knee deep in Last Remnant and I'm enjoying it so far. I'm hoping they show off something new from FF XIII, I'm tired of seeing the same recycled images over and over.

And where the hell is Kingdom Hearts 3? Forget this 358/2 and Coded crap, give me a legitimate sequel for New Arcadia's sake!

Wow, that's a sexy list. Though, would seriously like to see some freakin' in-game play for that FFXIII because, well, it doesn't seem to exist.

@Cube

The title in KH:358/2 Days, I think, refers to the time Roxas spent in the Organization(358 days - the last seven days, he was in Fake!Twilight Town). I have no idea what the 2 stands for, though. Maybe it represents Roxas and the 14th member, Xion? As of now, noone knows.

@Kyvon08

FFIV:The After is a sequel to FFIV, with Cecil's and Rosa's son as the main protagonist. The heroes from FFIV also make appearances in the game.

I really hope they will show more from the FFXIII games - not just trailers in a "Closed Theater". Interesting that all Kingdom Hearts games are playable too, that's nice. But I'm still waiting for KH3...
