Get ready to kill things: Borderlands goes gold photo

The PC version of Borderlands was too metal (or too done) to stay in Gearbox Software’s offices. Earlier this afternoon, the studio announced that the build has joined the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions at the magical factory that makes the retail versions of the game real, tangible things. In other words, Borderlands is wicked gold and it will be ready, for sure, on October 20th.

Dubbed an “RPS,” the game has players looking for hidden technology on a post-apocalyptic planet full of bad men who require bullets in their brains. We’ve previewed the videogame a few times, so definitely give this and this a read if you’re interested in what the colorful shooter is packing.

How many of you are planning picking this up? I would say something about the game in this next sentence, but I still haven’t received code. There’s no adequate way to describe to you the pain I feel because of this.

How did anyone from Destructoid get review code for a game as metal as Borderlands before Brad Nicholson's pecs? That doesn't make any sense.

Anyway, in for two. Three if it turns out my PC can run it.

I don't know enough about this game to even care. I know it has guns, and it has ugly people. Things are dirty, people will fight. Why do I want to play it?

So does "RPS" mean "Role Person Shooter", or "Role Playing Shooter"?

I'd love to get this for PC, but it probably won't run. I can barely play TF2 on 640x480 with everything turned down. Probably just going to get it for my 360.

Its funny how Borderlands articles on Destructoid always reference previous "Previews" of the game, yet none mention Nick Chester's awesome write-up titled "Borderlands: I need to find something to shoot immediately" which catapulted this game to the top of my list. I think its the best write-up thus far.

It can be found here

Wait, if the PC version is complete now, couldn't the release date for it be the 20th now? :D?

Jesus. First Demons Souls. Then Uncharted 2. Then this. Plus the new ratchet and clank. Halfminute hero. And like a zillion more. Damnit. Too many games! I think I will wait for a review on this one. For some reason I dont feel I have enough info for a blind purchase on this one.

I'm waiting 6 days to get the PC version, of course. Why settle for less? Plus in 6 days reviews will be out and we'll see what's what.

I might end up getting this one on p. Hopefully there is a demo so that I can make sure it doesn't make my external sound card wig out(like most big games).

I am probably going to buy it. It was a definite buy earlier this year, then it slipped to a maybe, but now it's a probably, since MW2 was delayed for the PC.

I want this to flop so bad.

So lame Randy ''we make c list games'' Pitchford had the balls to call fallout 3 boring, but it seems that putting a load of cell shaded paint can attract sheep to your lame looting game.
