Is there any sport more badass than Rugby? I think not. The fact that there isn't a more prominent Rugby presence in the US is puzzling; it's basically football, but better. Nevermind the fact that people do things like this get pumped.
Rugby Challenge looks to be on par with the other big-name sports franchises with what looks like a solid player editor, broadcast style presentation (because that's all the rage now), photo-realistic stadiums, and 4v4 online mulitplayer. Rugby Challenge will be getting a release on PS3, 360, PC, and PS Vita "soon," so I'll just keep watching that Haka and hopefully it'll whet my appetite.
I live in a country where rugby is a huge phenomenon and I can't stand it, at least american football has Superbowl Ads. The only advantage to rugby is that if you play rugby professionally nobody cares if you rape a bunch of broads.
Chur bro. I was really hoping to be out of the country during world cup year so that I wouldn't have to hear about it every fucking day (53 days to go guys!) but I had to leave Japan. I also don't get why it isn't more popular in the US though, more brutal + no armor, what's not to like?
because americans are pussies, that's why. every single sport you can think off is butchered by americans in US thanks to ridiculous rules they're inventing or overall play style.
i saw few recaps of football matches in US and i have to admit - US football teams act like bunch of lazy fatkids who are scared that something will happen to them. kids from primary school are more agressive in the field - US players would be simply crushed before the game would even begin by teams from Italy or other european countries. same goes to Handegg.
Rugby is gaining popularity in the US. There are just so many people so it will take a while. The US for example has more Rugby Clubs than South Africa, one of the greatest rugby nations.
Looking forward to the world cup. I am hoping NZ wins, cause they deserve to, but also hoping South Africa and Argentina do well!
My P.E. (Physical Education) teacher used to make me play rugby. It's not fun when you're as puny as I am, and there's a big, meaty ginger heaving himself at you.
American Football started out basically like Rugby. Then they started stopping play every five seconds, and putting on heavy padding, and putting in TONS off commercials and advertisements, and it started to go downhill.
That said, if an American Rugby was whipped up, something that featured the flowing play of Rugby and added in some of the better elements of American Football (like the Forward Pass, for example), that would be a pretty damn spectacular sport.
