Get down on that Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne reprint photo

You can't keep a good game down. Much like other Atlus releases, Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne is one of those games that you keep hearing about if you missed it the first time. This 2004 PlayStation 2 release isn't necessarily super-rare, but it's still pretty hard to find. That's why, if interested, you'd want to jump on a reprint right away.

This demonic, super-Japanese RPG has a kind of cult following, as does the rest of the Megami Tensei series games. If you're asking me, its a brilliant game. It's so great that Capcom's Dante (Devil May Cry) even makes an appearance. And that's why I jumped on ordering a copy of the reprint before I told you about it. I'm not trying to be greedy, but I've been looking for a decently priced, well-kept copy for awhile now. We're still good, right?

Play-Asia has Nocturne available for $44.90. This does not come with the soundtrack CD like the original release did. Who cares! You're still getting a kickass JRPG that has been hard to come by for some time now.

What about you? Will you pick this up? Do you already have it?

I already own it, I bought it used, with a crusty beat up manual, but the game still works and kicks ass none the less. I urge everyone to buy this now that doesn't own it or satan will eat your soul.

45 bucks seems pretty steep for a reprint. I know it's not the easiest game to find in the world, but it would've been nice to have a Greatest Hits or something (a la Final Fantasy Tactics reprint).

wait...I just paid 60 for a used version of the original version, just to have THIS come out a month later?!?!? What ludicrousness is this.

Is that DMC2 Dante in the botton right hand corner? I've never played this game.

Thank God, I've been wanting to pick this up for a long time, but couldn't justify spending upwards of $100 on one PS2 game. Thanks for the heads up!!

Wow this game is still going for a lot of money because of high demand. It's probably going to piss off the collectors that this is being reprinted if it is an exact copy.

I will definitely pick this up.

What are the details of this reprint? It's gonna hit stores again, or is it just from online vendors like Play-Asia? (What I'm asking is if I could walk into GameStop and see it new, or if I'd have to order it online.)

I played this originally all the way through, acquired everything, got the best ending, then was upset that I couldn't purchase it because I couldn't find it anywhere. After giving my friend back his copy, I later traded for it with my own copy of Digital Devil Saga Part 1. Not anywhere near as enjoyable as Nocturne, and worth every bit of the trade to me.

This new arrival of a reprint doesn't upset me at all. If anything, it brings a smile to my face knowing that a bunch of people who didn't know about a game that has this much awesome can now get a chance to play it. I encourage everyone to play Nocturne, get completely frustrated by some of the ridiculously hard bosses, then man up and enjoy this badass game anyway.

Every RPG fan should pick this up, its the best game in the Tensei series, everything past this has been pretty lackluster.

Got this back when it came out. Stalled out somewhere in the last dungeon, still haven't gotten around to finishing it.

This is possibly the greatest game I've ever played.
The series as a whole is amazing. I already own 3 copies, tow of which are still sealed, but I'm glad this is giving others a chance to play this amazing game. If nothing else it will make me feel like less of a dork for owning many SMT toys....

I have been trying to find a reasonably priced copy of this game for a long time now. So It'll be nice to get my hands on it. I might put off playing this until after I play Persona 3 FES though...

I've had it since the day it came out. It's cool more gamers can get it now. I just want to know who did the reprint. Atlus has said they don't do them anymore and gamequestdirect doesn't seem to be behind it either.

I already own two copies, a used one in great condition and a sealed copy (goes for over 200$ on ebay with the manual) and I have the Guide in perfect condition too. I actually might have to get a copy of this just for collection purposes

Everyone buy this now! It's the best game on the PS2, period.

I didn't buy it when it first came out, but I was amazingly lucky enough to stumble upon a used copy that still had the manual and soundtrack in it a little over a year ago. I've never looked at games the same way after playing this. It's THAT good.

I've bought and sold and owned at one point in time somewhere around five copies of that game. Sometime in between all of these shady deals I managed to beat it... now I don't have a copy but I know just how AMAZING it is. Try Digital Devil Saga as well.

Why can't they wait until summer when there's time and money to play games!?!?

I've already got this. I really got concerned trying to find out whether I was doing the 'right thing' at the start of the game. After passing the first dungeon 'lamp' area, I got a clearer idea of what to do.

People who've played it know what I mean. :O)
