Get a year of Live Gold for thirty bucks at Amazon photo

Want to save a little bit of money this year on an Xbox Live Gold subscription? Amazon has temporarily marked down their supply of one-year cards to 60% of the MSRP. That's an entire year of online gaming, Netflix access and whatever other "bonuses" Microsoft decides to make available to paid users for thirty clams. Neato!

Amazon likes to do this sort of thing periodically and with little to no fanfare, which is awesome but does require one to keep an eye out for it. No idea how long this price is going to last and it may be limited to their current supply, so you'll probably want to jump right on this if you want to take advantage.

Eh, got a PS3 now, would probably try to sell the 360 if anyone actually wanted them.

troll much? No one wants 360's anymore? The holiday sales would indicate that you are full of shit:)

Wedge is the new SexualChocolate, I'd be willing to bet on it.

Just wait.

I'm good. Got a 360 and a ps3 slim. Just pointing out that the retarded fanboys logic is flawed. The 2009 holiday sales # sugest plenty of people still want 360's:)

@wedge

u should proably sell yours and save up your money for that psn premium service that's in the works. Maybe well finally get cross game chat and be able to listen to custom soundtracks on all games.

How do you know wedge is not another persona of SexualChocolate on this forum?

Anyway, this is extremely meh news. We already know PS3 sold much more than 360 (1.36 million vs 1.31 million!!! that's like .05 more million than 360!!!!!) so it must be the proof that 360 is going down...

30 bux for live? PS3 is free all the way "EVER!"

I actually started out thinking that, but I had to give Wedge some credit until I know for sure. Definately has the fanboyism brewing, thats for sure. But yes, PS3 sold more than 360, finally. I'd say because Sony finally kicked it into gear and put out some really good games. Sure, PSN is free, but XBL is like 5 bucks a month at the yearly rate. That isn't going to bankrupt me. At the rate I use PSN and the lack of a few key features, plus a lot of small user unfriendly design choices, it damn well better be free.

Of course if we delve any further, fanboyism is bound to erupt. Both services have their strong points.

Besides, I think we can all agree the Wii's online service is clearly the best of all 3.

Lol I'm a fanboy now. Sweet. And I don't need a 360 because I play most of my games on a PC kiddos. God bless EDF 2017, but I just don't have anything else exclusive to play on the 360. I'd been using it to play SF IV, but can't really be bothered to to pay for XBL again just to keep doing that for Super, when I have a PS3 that does it for free AND a stick for the PS3.

And I'm referring to how incredibly easy it is to find 360's on Craiglist, generally being sold for dirt cheap, because they are in abundant supply. I'd feel kind of bad if I can't get at least $250 for a 360 with a bunch of controllers and accessories and games.

@Wedge

I can find just as many PS3's and Wii's on Craigslist, does that mean no one wants them? Are you basing your entire 'no one wants this system' on the number of Craglist listings? You also have to realize a good chunk of those are probably deadbeats trying to sell their RROD 360 to some idiot who regularly buys any electronic device off of an online classified ad.

3 comments for a console argument to start? Even for an article that's about Live, that's pretty fast.

Why dont we get offers like this?? :-( That would equate to around £15-20 here.

Folks need to chill before this ends up a topic on Fanboy Friday. Come on now, lets all play nice eh?

I use the Wii online quite a lot, Mario Kart and Rock Band especially, and Call of Duty Reflex. All great games online.

Here in the UK we would never see 12 months of gold sold for the translated price of ~£21. Lame.

Here in the UK Amazon are selling 12 months for 32 quid. That's still a very good deal. That's 2.66 per month - less than pint of Fosters, and worth the price alone to not have to use a Dualshock in an online shooter*

*Didn't want to, but I figured what the hell.

Wedge: the PS3 fanboi troll, and not a very good one I might add.

Anyway, it looks like the $30 price was for yesterday only. I saw that, too, but I had already bought it a few days ago at $35 minus the remaining $6 video game credit I already had. Even at $35, it's still a significant savings.

If Xbox live were a one time payment, I'd probably pay for an account, but I don't like the idea of paying for it every year like a cheap second Internet Service Provider.

Eh, don't really care what it comes off as. Paid for a discounted year around this time last year and found I never really used it, or the 360 very much. The few games I would have wanted to play were all too obscure and nobody played them. None of you can relate to where I'm coming from anyways though.

And btw, I think the best overall console of this generation from a software standpoint is the Wii, so chew on that.
