Eyebrows have been raised in Orange Country, Florida, after a Sheriff's Deputy allegedly took a man's Xbox 360 from him instead of issuing a ticket. The original owner was apparently pulled over for speeding when the deputy confiscated his console, and now the Sherrif's office is trying to explain itself.
"He said, 'When you got your receipt and box and we'll meet someplace, you show me your receipt and I'll give you your game.' I didn't understand them," explained Kenyatta Hillman, who was stopped by the cop for speeding and had his car searched on suspicion of drugs. Even worse, when Hillman decided to chase this up with the police department, nobody knew what he was talking about: "They said, 'We don't know what is going on. It was no arrest, no police file, no case. We can't find it."
Hillman eventually found supervisor Sgt. Hosey. Hillman, who confirmed the system was in his possession and that he will give it back on Friday, tomorrow. It seems they were concerned that it was stolen, and I am sure that his being black had nothing to do with it.
Instead, we can only assume that Orange County cops were simply desperate to see how awesome avatars are on NXE. This would also explain why they are giving the Xbox back.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

and the cop's 360 avatar was shortlived.
Right, like that will stop them. The cop already knew the rights.
I could also insert some generic America bashing comment here, but I'll refrain.
Give a yankee a gun and some power will lead them to steal 360s
sony has a new marketing campaign.
you still have rights in america?
Absolutely ridiculous that this shit goes on...we've got a long way to go.
