German rating boards lists Phoenix Wright for the Wii! photo

Capcom's classic DS game, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, may possibly be heading to the Wii if Germany's recent USK rating is to be believed. The game has been listed for Nintendo's white waggle box, meaning that players may very well be able to enjoy the defense attorney's adventures on a home console!

Rating boards like the USK and ESRB are often good sources of game information, and have revealed many games in the past. It's possible that this new listing is a mistake and was categorized for the Wii by accident. However, it's been very rare for these rating boards to steer us wrong, so while it's highly possible that mistakes could have been made, it would certainly be unusual.

The game was ported to the PC in Japan, so we know that Phoenix Wright assets exist in a larger resolution. It shouldn't be a big deal to create a Wii version, either for retail or as a WiiWare download. All signs point to it being a remake of the original game, which is no bad thing, considering it's kind of awesome.

Would you want to play Phoenix Wright on the Wii, or should it remain on the DS?

I would buy a Wii for this. If it was only released in Germany, I would move there.

To be honest, I'd prefer it stayed on the DS. It doesn't have the depth that a lot of console games do. Yes, I know it's the Wii, hardly renowned for depth, but Phoenix Wright is a quality series, and I don't think releasing a portable game on a console would be a valid indicator of what the game is like.

Huh.

If it's a flat-out port, I don't care. If it's a port with new content, I might.
If it's a new game, I'll definitely buy it, but I'll be sad.

Really, playing this on the Wii would be weird, like reading a novel on your TV, pretty much. The reason I liked it so much to begin with was that it worked well to pick up and play. I could read tons of text at a book-like distance while on a bus, or waiting in a line, somewhere I had time to kill.

As much as I love the series, I don't particularly care for the platform choice.

I read about this at Siliconera earlier and will say the same thing here, "No objection here!"

if it's just a port I won't buy it. simple as that. you simply don't need to port a game to 4 different consoles either. but hey, if it'll get more people into Phoenix Wright then I'm all for this.

I would really like a new game, though...

As long as it isn't a new game. I'd kill myself if there was a PW game I couldn't play.

I love Phoenix Wright, but unless it's a *new* adventure of his, I don't think I care too much about having it on the Wii. If I want to play any of the existing games, I will go to my DS collection and do just that.

Didn't the dev's come right out and say 'We aren't making this for Wii ever'?

Regardless, there better be a control scheme involving a slamming action with the nunchuck, followed by a thrusting of the Wiimote.

Otherwise, I'm not buying it.

Oh, and throw in shouting via the Wii Speakamabob.

Phoenix Wright is an interactive novel. It belongs on the DS, sans waggle bullshit that will inevitably be thrown in.

Please be a port.

they should use the wii motion plus so that you can point and say "objection" to object

a new adventure, slightly denovelized (more animation, voice acting) would be cool.

A straight port to Wii? yeah sure.

Also, thrusting the WiiMote to object? Come on guys, that's Supa Technology!

Considering the fact that I don't own a DS, I fully support this, be it a port or a sequel.

I too heard the devs say it was a DS franchise. That said, I welcome Phoenix Wright and company on any platform they choose.

I will buy it whether it's an original title or an enhanced port (better looking sprites and animation, wiimote thrusting).

Since when does the Wii need higher resoultion assets? The DS's ones are more than enough...

More Phoenix Wright is a plus in my book. It's extremely well-suited for an episodic structure, and new content is always welcome. I do enjoy having it portable, though, so we'll have to see what happens. I have good faith in the designers.

I agree with those who say that half the reason why Phoenix Wright was so much fun was because it was portable. I loved carrying around my DS, mulling over a part that I'm stuck on, then taking it out whenever I get an idea.

I think it'll probably be a port....they kind of ruined the Phoenix Wright story with the addition of that stupid red vested kid.....whatever his name was....Apollo!! yeah, that's the one! Seriously. Every character that you knew or loved besides Phoenix no longer exists (excluding the judge) and even Phoenix acted completely different. I'm hoping, if it's a new one, they will ignore the Apollo game and just start off where the last true PW game left off.

Only if they use Wii Speak, the Wiimote speaker, Wii vitality sensor, and the
Wii balance board. I can totally see them implementing the vitality sensor.

I wouldn't mind waving my giant finger around with the Wiimote.

A port of the first games, no objection there.

A new entry to the series, OBJECTION, the new games should be released in the DS

Remake of the first?

Once it includes the Skye/Gant case, I'll be supremely satisfied.
