What would videogames, let alone pop culture, be without zombies? What would we spend unquantifiable amounts of money on year after year for our own personal entertainment? What, I ask you, would be big enough to fill the gap between out current existence and the ultimate apocalypse?
Thanks to George A. Romero, we don't have to ask these questions. The "godfather" of zombies himself took time out of his busy schedule to sit down with our own R3Y GUTI3RR3Z, and talk about what zombie have become since he first turned them into entertainment and horror icons with his film, Night of the Living Dead.
The scene: "Zombie Walk" in San Francisco. The film: Survival of the Dead. Walking down the streets of San Francisco, alongside crowds of Zombies to celebrate this new film (as well as the upcoming App of the Dead), we celebrated zombie culture in style to honor this long-celebrated icon.
Take a look at the video to see coverage of the walk, as well as our interview with George, and find out more about what his take on what his take on what the future of zombies may or may not hold.
[Personal thanks from R3Y to Gabriel "SnakeDude4Life" Gomez for giving him a hand with some zombie questions.]
The prey always ends up tripping or twisting his ankle. It's a rule.

I'm a big supporter of slow zombies -> yay Romero!
Plus the 70s films suck.
You remember correctly. And that was the moment LotD transformed from a preachy, heavy-handed, bad zombie movie, to one of the worst movies I've ever seen in my life.
That's the sweetest thing you've ever said to me. Thanks again for the help. He was press for time, I was going to try and have him give you a shout out.
Your string of words amuses me.
George A. Romero is a living legend!
Well, and what was that in Land of the Dead?
These rules were pulled out from a place zombies eat with thier last bites. Romero made some good movies, though his ideology and ego are laughingstock. There's nothing new or interesting in going over and over and over people's greed and corruption (BTW proping up an animal-esque zombie as the good uncorrupted guy is just stupid). And propagating a mem into popculture does not make one an owner of that mem.
So, run! Zombie run!
Zombies used weapons in Day of the Dead as well which came out in 1985. Actually some of the Zombies in Dawn had motorskills but they weren't as extreme as in Land lol that movie took it to the next level but the muscle memory thing was always in his movies.
