Technically speaking, it was available yesterday, but you weren't going to be able to play it anyway.
With how crazy things have always been on the iPod/iPhone front when it comes to games, I can't say I've been looking forward to the iPad all that much. I'm thoroughly expecting a deluge of apps retouched and then marketed as being for the new device.
But this is special because it's Geometry Wars. The newest iteration of Bizarre Creation's brilliant shoot-em-up series features all six game modes previously found in Geometry Wars 2: Retro Evolved on Xbox Live Arcade plus "Titans!," a new mode exclusive to the iPad.
The game will run you $9.99 in the App Store. If you're in the App Store and that seems like a lot of money, remember this: You just spent $500 on an oversized iPod. Get some perspective.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Lite versions are nice but not every game has one.
Demos could be a universally applied thing using a timer, maybe 10-15 minutes? Basically just enough time to figure out if the controls work well and don't require obscuring the screen with my fingers/hands too much.
I—and I'd bet, many others—would buy a lot more iPhone/iPad games if we could simply try before buying.
Seriously! I also haven't been looking forward to the iPad. There are few games on the iPhone that keep my attention beyond a day (besides ports like Final Fantasy). Sometimes it feels like the App store collects the best of the worst flash games and then charges for them.
Hmm...
