As I learned at PAX Prime, actually knowing how to play Dreadnought is half the battle. It's an enamoring idea to rush in with the quickest ship and fire until either you or your target is dead. If that's your approach,...   more

Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell leaves no deadly sin unchecked

Johnny Gat's not a good man. Powerful, but not good. That's why he uses each and every of the seven deadly sins to send all of those already dead to the after-afterlife. Most of them look like they deserve it, to be fair. Especially those nipple-rubbing demons.   more

Hotline Miami 2 might not be done until early 2015

Geometry Wars 3 releasing in late November

I didn't want to stop playing Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions at PAX Prime. Part of that was due to the years-long gap since the last one released, admittedly, but more importantly the game ended up being a lot of fun. There's no...   more

Very Quick Tips: Alien: Isolation

That Xenomorph can be one tricky asshole in Alien: Isolation. One time it walked out of a room, waited a second, then turned back around to find me awkwardly climbing out of the cabinet I had been hiding in. What a dick. Here's how to avoid that situation and more.   more

Review: Alien: Isolation

From the old school "20th Century Fox" opening to the first few seconds, Alien: Isolation wants you to know that it takes after the first film from the series it was based on. One alien, one spaceship, one chance at survival. This is the game we should have gotten from Gearbox.   more

Matador is now Brigador, still a cool looking mech shooter

Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell takes us on a fly-by tour of the underworld

Sprout some wings and take an aerial tour of Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell and New Hades with Johnny Gat acting as a murderous guide. When he's not perusing the underworld via an overhead view, he's running down demons in his rambulance or firing swaths of rockets from his armchair. Dead Island 2 PAX impressions

Having only seen Dead Island 2 and not played it yet, I'm in agreement with Max here. It does look like a decent-enough zombie game, and a much better take on the property than Riptide .. but it's still Dead Island. There comes a point at which you've simply had enough. The southern California setting and warm tones are lovely, though. Big fan of those.   more

Review: Warframe

Warframe has just released on the Xbox One, and it's undergone some changes since it launched -- mostly good changes, meant to add more content to the game in the form of items and missions. It still fails in all of the same areas however, mostly its inability to craft an interesting world, and the free-to-play scheme that encourages far too much grinding.   more
