Gene Simmons confirms Guitar Hero 6 photo

As if we really needed the confirmation, Gene Simmons has announced that the next chapter in its mercilessly raped music game series, Guitar Hero 6. Yep, that's right, it'll be starring everybody's favorite Kiss frontman and part-time lizard.

Simmons made the announcement on ITN, a news program in the UK. He declared he was going to be "the voice of Guitar Hero 6" during an interview. Evil publisher Activision is yet to make an official announcement, but you don't get much more authoritative than Gene Simmons.

So there you have it. Guitar Hero 6. Likely one of fifteen Hero games we'll be getting this year!

I don't know which sequel is moving faster. The Guitar Hero games or the Twilight films.

Both of them make me want to puke and they are both, of course, poorly made in their field of entertainment.

Gene Simmons? Shame. GH5 was a such a redemption for the series.

Guitar Hero Kiss incoming?

Sound better than KISS: Rock Band. That implies some sort of ... collaboration... as a band.

He probably has it wrong, he is the voice for Guitar Hero: Kiss and Band Hero: Rock Like Kiss, but not the actual Guitar Hero 6.

Screw it, I just do not care any more.

@CrispyWaffle: At least the books the movies are based on have stopped, so eventually the movies will also stop.

But these...*shudder*

Not to be technical, but Gene Simmons isn't the "frontman" of KISS; that would be Paul Stanley. "Frontman" implies the singer.

"He declared he was going to be "the voice of Guitar Hero 6""

All the more reason for me to avoid this thing.

If Guitar Hero 6 was the only one to be released this year, I would be glad to hear that, but I'm afraid that's not gonna happen.

Wait wait, wasn't there some sort of problem with RedOctane or something? I remember an article saying that productions of GH6 are unlikely.

This is some trashy journalism. OK, fine. Poke fun at GH for releasing too many titles last year. But FYI, Activision announced pretty conclusively that Guitar Hero 6 would be this year's only GH title. If they go back on that, it'll definitely be disappointing, but that's what's been announced so saying something like "one of fifteen Hero games..." in what's supposed to be "news" is rather depressing.

@Lelis Abruzzi: Guess you'll be glad to hear that 6 is the only one this year.

This article could've just reported facts instead of resorting to overdone Activision bashing and ignorance towards Guitar Hero's release plan for 2010. I fully expect you to utter the same garbage towards Harmonix/EA/MTV if they release more than 3 game this year.

Wow, Gene Simmons you say? There goes any shred of legitimacy that series has. They couldn't possibly have chosen someone who has any relevance to today's music scene? Or to any music scene in the last twenty years?

@Jecurpac; See Guitar Hero: Metallica, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, or Guitar Hero: Van Halen. Do any of those bands have shreds of "legitimacy"? Or you could just wait for the Green Day Rock Band...

You know how I confirmed the release of Guitar Hero 6 this year? Logic and common sense.

@Jecurpac, Gene Simmons is an icon of music throughout the ages, and there is no point of having an artist that has any "relevance in todays music scene" cause 90% of todays music scene is crap.
