Value is a subjective thing. I could never personally justify spending thousands of dollars for a chair just because somebody says it's an antique. That said, I spend a ridiculous amount of money buying the latest videogames that I'm sure others would find a complete waste of one's funds. Perhaps with this in consideration, it's wrong to call somebody who spends €7000 (roughly $9,500) to buy someone else's World of Warcraft account an idiot. Perhaps it is, but ... let's face it, he's a complete idiot. Zeuzo is a rogue from the Method guild with the kind of loot that sweaty bearded nerds would kill to get their virtual hands on ... or at least spend a ludicrous amount of money. One of only two players to have the Twin Blades of Azzinoth, Zeuzo gave player Shaks his hard earned loot for the kind of money most of us never see in one place at one time. Shaks apparently then used his newfound power to play quite badly. Of course, with such an insane transaction, it would be foolish to expect things to run smoothly. In fact, it would seem that Shaks hasn't updated his profile for much of this month, indicating that his nutty purchase was discovered by Blizzard before news of the transaction even exploded. In short -- if Shaks hasn't earned himself a $9,500 ban, he will have done before the week is out. Hahaha. [Tip by Bluemeep]

Thats amazing....
I'm selling some swampland in Second Life if anyone's interested.
Peoples titles are awsome today.
Also: ya, most (MOST.. not all) people who play WoW are retarded anyway. I mean, you would be to after doing nothing but level grinding for the majority of your life.

@ Neonie
@ the internet
@ furries
I wonder what Zeuzo did with the money?
I know a few people that sold their accounts for a few grand. It's like nothing to us sweaty bearded nerds. We just create a new account and have it geared almost as well in a matter of weeks.
Also, he likely isn't going to get banned. There are loopholes that allow you to sell your account (basically you're selling your time to level the account or some such nonsense). But, the best part is, it doesn't matter. The people that buy the accounts are outcasts. Everyone knows that they didn't earn their loot, and many of the better guilds (ones that actually require that loot) won't recruit them because they recruit the player, not the character.
A guy in my guild Wray, had the worlds first Thunderfury (Legendary 1h sword), and sold his account when he was shipped off to fight. The Wray character was kicked out of our guild, other guilds on our server knew Wray personally, and knew not to even associate with him, let alone recruit him. He eventually switched servers, but still carried that bad rap name with him. Then he switched again, and got his name to change, and even if he finally got accepted, it took him so long that most of the gear was outdated.
Yeah.... rich nerds. Such a great income source for intelligent nerds.
You realize these comments are going to devolve into facepalming images, right?
Dues Payne you shed alot more light on that than I care to know.
Midly entertaining.

Purchasing your ePenis ftw.
Dick:
I am hopelessly addicted to facepalm. I say bring it on.
Yeah, I unfortunately was part of Immortality, which during our hayday was #1-3 on worlds first kills. I believe I was offered somewhere around 3k for my account at one point. Luckily, I have since severed my connection with WoW, and spend my time spreading the stories of a gamer, once ravaged with an addiction worse than drugs. WoW. It ruins lives. :-P
Whoa my roommate has a rogue like that. Hes in the second best guild in the world.
Isn't 7000 pounds closer to like $14,000?
I thought it was like 2:1.
thats gay moshiii....but congrats??
7k Euros. That's at a 1.4:1 with monopoly USD.
I hate WoW.
It'll be so easy to pick out that guy on the server he's moved to. Most 'honorable' guilds wouldn't pick up an account buyer but im sure some nubs will send him an invite, if he doesn't have friends there allready.
7000 euro buys you 100 acres of prime real estate with current rates. You could play real-life WoW there :P
@ Prof Pew
That's sweet. Here in Florida, USA, 9,000 bucks would get me about 8 square feet of swampland.
/facepalm
neonie: i dont play wow any more but then again i dont go around calling people retarded for the way they spend their time.
Selling/Buying a wow account for that much is retarded, and calling people retards for doing what they do for fun is retarded. Playing wow or any other game is a means of escape for some people from what they consider to be "retarded".
That said anyone want to buy my account, i have a 70rog and a 70 war, alliance:P
I sold a house and a set of armor back in Ultima Online for like $150 each, that shit was tiiiight for a kid in 7th grade. I actually wrote a report on this subject, basically breaking down how people invest real money in virtual materials, I might post that in my cblog...
I never sold my account, itīs full of memories. Fucking addictive game, it`s crack for geeks.
I was on DeusPayne server, and he had the worst gamer life iīve ever seen, being forced to raid because of a gkick is plain retarded.
The guy who owns that WoW character must have a massive penis. And be totally awesome in real life. At least, that it the conclusion I am forced to conclude based on how good he is at WoW.
I bet he used a credit card. Now lets see his parents pay for it when the bill comes.
Teta? What are you talking about? Immo had no such rule. As most top end guilds don't. They rely on the drive of their members pushing the guild forward, not the guild pushing the members to do stuff they don't want to.
Wow, EPIC FAIL.
Retarded, but not really surprising.
A friend of a friend of mine sold his Everquest account back in the day and bought a car with the bank he got. Sure, it was a used car, but it was at least two or three grand.
My first successful tip! Glee!
I have a lvl 1 character for sale, those are rare! For more info, ask here.
I hope they ban that dude, that'll teach him not to fail at life.
I never understood why somebody would pay so much money for a game account. It takes all the fun out of the game if you start off at a really high level.
Yeah, facepalm.jpg pretty much says it all.
cd users/root/desktop/programs/ sh facepalm
If you're not going to play the game and earn all that shit for yourself, what the hell is the point?
It's like back in the old days when I'd buy a used SNES game and it would have save files for the end of the game from the previous owner, the first thing I'd do would be to delete them if possible or load a new game and overwrite all the files with a save as close to the beginning of the game as possible. This guy, on the other hand, pays $9500 so he can have the WoW equivalent of those end-game save files.
So, yeah, I agree with the sentiment that this guy is an idiot.
This guy needs to think logically: He just paid to not play a game that he payed for.
At least everyone can virtually shun him.
Actually, the reason most people buy them is for PvP. If you're buying the character to PvE with... then that's just dumb. The people that do that usually buy a lvl 60 (70 now) with shitty gear, and then gear it themselves.
What the best part actually is, is when (and trust me it will happen) WoW goes offline, this guy is left with nothing, except a receipt for $9500.
damn could somebody take the money away from stupid people!!!!!
I want to know what else this guy spends his money on. I have a feeling this isn't the only LOL expense he's made in his life.
People who've read my profile understand my stance on MMOs.
Biggest waste of money ever. On top of that he still has to pay per month.
Ridiculous.
On the next episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine..
I heart Professor X!
Damn, maybe a few hundred dollars for an account I could understand, though I'd still think they were stupid, but almost $10000? That is just fucked up. Why not just buy the equipment, and use the money to support yourself while you work up to 70?
Wow...I actually sold my account for 850 dollars back in the days before the expansion. My warrior had the best weapons and gear you could find, and an Aussie i used to play with heard i quit, so he instantly dropped the dough for it..
*Another facepalm*
