Gee, thanks Nintendo: No Brawl in Europe until at least July photo

You know, it seems like only yesterday that I'd finally been given hope that Nintendo had decided not to keep screwing people over in the European territories. Well, looks like the Big N isn't quite finished stomping on the Eurotrash and giving us a nice, hard kick in the teeth. If you were hoping for Super Smash Bros. Brawl before Christmas -- or even slightly after Christmas ... think again. Fancy waiting at least five months after the US release? Because that's what you're bloody getting.

All Nintendo had to say about it was that Brawl is "currently not planned for a release in Q1 or Q2 next year." That means we in the Euro market won't be able to get to grips with this thing until sometime around July 2008. Of course, by that time everyone else will have had plenty of time to become intimate with the gameplay and absolutely suck all the fun out of it for Europeans going online against people who have had five ****ing months of practice ahead of them.

Nintendo ... this is a douchebag move of the highest order and you have absolutely no clue how to release an online game. Bloody sort it out, because this isn't just a slap in the face anymore, this is a trainwreck of laziness and disrespect. Oh, and you can shove Mario Kart up your arse.

[Thanks Seanus]

You are joking. You are joking! O_O

Oh come on, Nintendo! You can't surely take that long to get a game ready for the Euro market!

Oh for fuck sake. I was pretty pissed off already at the prospect of it being released after Chrimbo :/

What's the difference between the us and uk versions anyway?

Is it just the 50hz/60hz thing? Surely all new tv's can handle 60hz now.

The UK should have it's own versions and not be lumped with the rest of Europe.

I was going to put off modding the Wii until Brawl was out or until there was more info about what Nintendo's plans were. Now I'm not so sure.

Serves the Europeans right for calling us fat.

And in light of this, or rather despite it, I stand by my claim that any release dates currently published are not to be trusted. I even made a large bet with a moderator of a different forum that it won't come out anywhere until summer of this year.

Yeah, i know, our release dates are very poopy indeed.
But it's all those damned languages (i am looking at you, french italion and german), they are so friggin stubborn that they want their games in their language, I mean, they even REFUSE to speak english what's so ever, even when my family had car trouble in french.
And I'm dutch, we only get translations for child's games, we (at least) LEARN english, and german/french to some extend. I'd say Nintendo only has to translate to english (either amerikan or brittish, i dont f'ing care, I understand both perfectly) and get it over here ASAP! and for those germans/italians/spanish, I'd just flick them the bird and stuff a stuff a english dictionary through their ear. If they want their nintendo's fast, they have to agree to learn english for the sake of it.

Europe and the USA need to combine into a super nation called Eurosa, that way Nintendo has to give all of us the same release date.

Fuck you Nintendo, It's really tempting to just buy a Wii, mod it and then download Brawl until it actually gets released here. Once again what the FUCK nintendo. Do you realise the English language actually comes from England??

Thank you maxvest, another unreasonable 5 month delay would just cripple my long standing affection for nintendo.

DON'T DO IT YOU FUCKERS.

we get raped al the time , hardware and software prices => we pay way to much compared to american and japanees people .
and on top of that they give us everything months later.

explain to me why do we have to wait for months and pay more ?

Because Bjork came from the EU, and this is the world's way of saying "Thanks a lot, assholes."

->Xerxes: Iceland isn't part of the EU you outright buffoon. Also, sigur rós are from there, and they make up for any possible negative things you could say about björk, and then some.

I know they aren't a part of the EU-proper, but they are part of the superior EFTA. sigur ros isn't enough to counteract the years of Bjork infecting the world with her screeching and mutated features.

You will pay for Iceland's mistakes, EU. You will pay by getting everything later than your betters in America.

Bleh, I double posted. Lame.

Anyway, you do realise that none of the EFTA members are part of the EU, xerxes? I mean, allocate blame correctly here. Fuck the scandinavians, making the rest of our countries look bad with their awesome economies and social welfare systems...

That's why I specified the superiority of the EFTA when prompted. Double-posting IS lame unless you get the first and second post in the topic! Your minor clerical error invalidates your argument by extension and brings further shame to the EU!

Pretty damn ridiculous frankly, I was hyped for Smash Bros but now I just don't care, Nintendo have missed their window I've lost interest and it's not like I'll miss being mentally scarred by the piss poor excuse for online play.
