If you were looking for another reason to start playing Gears of War again, here it is: an update featuring 8 new achievements (totaling 250 gamerscore points) as well as improved Roadie Run controls and other fixes will hit Xbox Live tomorrow, June 14.
More specifically, these achievements will be based upon the game mode, Annex, and the Hidden Fronts Map Pack. Like previous Gears of War updates, the aim is to fix multiplayer exploits and "provide general housekeeping."
But how long will it be until we get an update that fixes the host advantage? Anyone?

The "Annex" gametype is now available for free and the "Hidden Fronts" Multiplayer Map Pack is available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 800 Microsoft Points.

@ leshrac55 - I don't think anything was ever 'fixed' per say with Gears disc unreadable errors. The only way I stopped getting that error was to pick up a new 360, even though the one I had was only six months old at the time.
New achievements will be nice, but man, can you please leave the roadie run alone already, I've just gotten used to it after the last update.

Well, in Gears they HAVE to utilize multiplayer achievements because the actual single player (or I guess, co-op) game itself isn't exactly made for too much replay value/exploration. It's like a train ride with... well... training wheels on it.
Too bad the multiplayer got old after a month or else this might actually excite me.
Other than that, may try R6:Vegas online and perhaps try out Shadowrun (although I've heard that's CS with magic....).
On topic it's good to see Epic's still supporting their game, but man the supports been nothing compared to their previous games. We got so much bonus content for 2k4 and even UT 99, Gears has a fraction of that. I suppose it's M$'s fault.....
Shame MS added Puerto Rico to some list limiting the DL content and I can't download the free maps or the hidden fonts one, who knew I was fucking myself over when I downloaded the last desktop update.
I mean its wonderful that I pay $400 for the machine, I've purchased 70 dollars worth of micro-transactions, I bought a gold live account and the fact that the 360 has been an unreliable piece of crap as well and MS still feels they can tell me what to download.
