Gears of War PC works again ... hooray? photo

Remember when we told you about Gears of War's digital signature accidentally expiring, rendering the game unusable for PC players? Well, it's been fixed!

The required update can be found here for those who still actively play the PC port, in which case I'm not going to comment on your gaming habits; I've got a few weird ones of my own, but that's for another time.

I will say that there's probably going to be more people playing Gears on PC now thanks to all of this attention it's getting. I suppose, in the end, everything worked out alright then.

It's still unplayable online. Any game you try to connect to is minimum 150 ping or higher which of course leads to those famous 3 second shotgun delays.

That does not sound pleasant.

Ohhh it's not pleasant at all. Epic should have added dedicated server support rather than the extra single player chapter no PC player really gave a crap about. Would have given the game a chance to have an online community.

I still remember the forums before launch when Epic completely stopped talking to the community because everyone was asking about dedicated server support and Epic was about to screw them.

Wow this shit should have been fixed an hour later after it happened, not days. Go DRM!
