Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

Sparked most likely by the same coolness factor that makes me love the original commercial, YouTubers have added their own twist on the Mad, Mad World Gears of War ad by adding a new soundtrack. Check out my top 5 favorites at the jump.

"Underwater march" from Pirates of the Caribbean. This music fits so well I almost imagine this is what the commercial would have been like if the creators chose a typical instrumental soundtrack instead.

Kill bill theme. Created by the guys at Aeropause.com

"More human than human" By White Zombie. The non-orgasim version would have been better.

"Zombie" By Cranberries. God I love this song and it fits so well too.

"The day the world went away" By Nine Inch Nails. Again the lyrics and the song beat just match so well.

Got a better song to match up to the ad, then create your own Gears remixed ad and send them to us at Dtoid .

Out of those five, I think the Underwater March is about my favourite, followed by Zombie, then The Day the World Went Away.

Yeah... It's really errie that you picked Zombie, because I actually listen to that song while I'm playing Gears. o_O;

I'm probably the only one that's going to say that the first one is the best. It's like Vice City meets Gears of War.

And I love it.

Anybody know the name of that song? Maybe we should ban together and buy it on iTunes. Any takers? Anyone?

Can't go wrong with NIN as background track (well, unless you're using "Down In It" or "Kinda I want To"

Why can't people do this to shitty ads that need help, instead of this one which was decent to begin with?

Cronotrigger, that's the Neverending Story Theme Song. I forget exactly who it was... but you can find it under the soundtrack I bet.

And I look retarded, 'cause I answered after two other people already did... but to be fair, I was searching the Internet to find who sings it, although all I came across was this dude Limahl, and I could swear there's a woman singing the chorus...

As far as the other videos, I liked the Pirates one, and I liked the Cranberries one. The others didn't match up as well. The Cranberries were the first band I ever saw in concert. That must have been like ten years ago.

Thanks fellow destructoidians.

Wow, I haven't watched that movie in years. I used to watch it religiously, too. Fucking awesome movie, that's really all that can be said.

More Human than Human... been a while since I heard that song. And who doesn't love the orgasm version. =P Never heard that NIN song before, I really like it and it went well with the video.

Some of those DEFINITELY matched up well with the beat and all, but I really only liked "Underwater March". But still, I like the original a LOT better. I don't think anyone could really have done any better.

SAY MY NAME BASTIAN!

Btw, the book of The Neverending Story is excellent if you've never read it, the movie ends halfway through the novel.

SPOILERZ!!!

In the second part, Bastian forces the Childlike Emperess to be his bride, becomes the tyrant ruler of Fantasia, and Atreyu leads a rebellion to bring him down.

I'm totally serious.

The Neverending Story theme is by Limahl, formerly of '80s supergroup Kajagoogoo. The song haunts my nightmares to this day.
