The season pass is 2400 msp and that unlocks the first 4 dlc packs upon release. You save 200 msp in every piece of dlc that way.
Can't wait for this but there is some confusion as to whether the maps are playable on the live multiplayer side of the game. The press release said they are playable in horde, beast mode and private multiplayer (against bots), no mention of competitive multiplayer.

Rod Fergusson has stated on Twitter thst the new maps will be available for play on Horde, Beast & Private Multiplayer matches ONLY. You can play them in Private matches with people who don't have the maps so long as the host has them.
He then tweeted saying these maps will eventually be avaible to play in standard multiplayer, just not right away.

They should be, seeing as though Competitive MP maps and Horde maps are the same, really. Adding Blood Drive (the best map for Horde ever. EVER.), A Gears 2 map that were both Competitive/Horde compatitable just assures it.

Just checked the forums and basically the maps won't be playable in versus but if you know someone who has the dlc you can play the maps and have access to their extras if they host private lobbies.
Apparently epic are working to get the maps in competitive servers but it won't be in time for release.

I don't really care whether or not this was cut from the game and then sold as DLC. The game I bought 2 weeks ago was totally worth the 60 bucks.
So far it looks like the season pass is gonna be worth the 30 bucks I paid for it, too. Just wish these were also playable in quick match at the very least.

Holding out till they say exactly how long it's going to be before we can play the maps in public versus. In Epic's fashion, they are not responding via the forums, and probably won't for some time.
I love gears. I love it so much it makes Mrs.Bakewell feel a little weirded out but I've got to say Epic have messed up here.
This game was ready to release 6 months ago, the first dlc pack is already on disc and yet they couldn't get their fucking act together and sort the maps out for versus play on day 1.
Gears 3 is without a doubt the best in the series but they have made a king cluster fuck of a mess with this.

I really don't see how the Season Pass (or even the standalone DLC) is worth it. So you get the three maps (which are on the disc) which could only be played in Private matches, then they toss in stupid character/weapon skins and add the Rocket functionality to the Silverback?
All of that stuff should have been in the game at no charge. Screw the 33% "savings"; this first DLC should've been free. If this is how all the DLC packages for Gears 3 is going to be (few maps + useless skins that nobody genuinely asked for), then shame on Epic. Shame on Epic indeed.

YEAH I CAN'T WAIT TO GET BERNIE!! She is my favorite character in Gears and I was sad she got skipped as a playable character at first!
On disc or off, I would have paid $10 just for the 3 maps alone. It's unfortunate that they won't be ready for Versus right away.
