That actually sounds pretty cool. I'd like to see what other people are doing in the gears universe. It would be really interesting to play as a civillian that is protecting a small group of survivors or as a locust looking to score a victory for his queen. I'd eat that shit up.
I feel like this could be potentially awesome if they tell a different story. By different story, I don't mean "someone else who happens to shoot a lot of locust."
How about exploring some of the events from the books in game form? It would fit within the mechanics without changing them, and let people know more about the universe.

Except Moxxi's underdome was the worst of all the dlc, it had no story what so ever and just wasted time, most only got to store weapons.

I have always really enjoyed playing as different characters in games so I think this could be pretty cool. Also I agree thats what DLC should be for different stories with different characters. When a game comes out with more main story parts or missions or what have you I just feel they should have put it on the disc.
How about some locust campaign action? I know that'd be a bit odd, as we have only played them in multiplayer- but itd be interesting to see things from their perspective for a change
Don't take any cues from Mad Moxxie unless you want to bore customers with arena battles that are way longer than they have any right to be
As long as the campaign DLC is more substantial than the deleted chapter we got for Gears 2, then this should be good. It can be like the PC Version of Gears 1, where the content actually fits into the story.

He mentioned Mad Moxt's Underdome Riot. That DLC was terrible. Hope there isn't a Gears 3 DLC like it.

Mad Moxie's Underdome Riot was not "unique and cool" but repetitive and bland... Also Characters of the main game had an apearance in GTA4's DLCs
Moxxie was easily the worst Borderlands DLC, and probably the most disappointing DLC I have ever gotten. It fundamentally misunderstands what Borderlands is good at while focusing on things that are not its strengths. Saying its like that is probably the worst thing you could say to me about your DLC.
Agree about underdome sucking but I think I'm going to go ahead and spring for that season pass. Maybe I'm part of the problem but I love the gears series.

Side lesson: never laugh while you've got a mouthful of hot coffee. Your sinuses will hate you forever for the scalding sensation. Worse than carbonation or alcohol.

Well, Looks like I'll wait for the inevitable GOTY edition with all the DLC and such. Not really in the mood right this moment for Gears anyway. Glad to see them aiming high with their DLC plans, though.

because this game wasn't completely done back in April? Could they not find time to put this on the disc?
And this will be how the seed the next game -because we all know they aren't going to just leave this as a trilogy. It didn't work for Halo, it won't work for Gears.
Mad Moxi's Underdome Riot was kind of lame though. The arena thing got old fast and your only real incentive to do it, was 2 kill points and a loot bank. I'd much prefer something more like the Zombie Isle of Dr Ned or The Armory of General Knoxx's. New levels and stuff to fight and maybe a weird theme to keep from taking it too seriously.
As long as it is not 'play as the locust' stuff I'm okay with this.
