The Spike VGAs may not have quite found the g-spot of gamers' desires with this year's show, but there's no denying that many were excited to finally hear some conclusive news about the Gears of War 2 "Combustible" Map Pack, which will be released tonight at midnight PST for your blasting pleasure.
A price was not confirmed, although rumors are flying that the cost will be 800 MS points. I heard some complaints about the idea that the map pack wouldn't be free, but either way, I have a feeling a lot of people may be up late tonight. Are you planning on downloading it as soon as it's available?

Taken from 1up. I don't really believe 3 maps is worth 800 ms points imo. Hopefully all of these rumors are false.

I probably won't pick up the maps tonight, but if they seem decent enogh maybe.
I still haven't picked up CAl lof Duty 4's maps.

I also have given up playing online, since in 40 minutes I've connected to one game...if you guys think the online is bad, try connecting from freaking Korea :(

I think most of you are probably just haters....
Maybe some, but I doubt most. I'm happy not everyone is experiencing issues with online play, but many still are.
I'm dissapointed.
They're not bad maps....but not sure if they justify 800 points. I will not though...that these new levels have some new gameplay elements, such as Fuel Station. If you're by the gas station and someone shoots the pumps, it blows up, and if you're near you get hurt or die.
Fuel Station - The Guns are mortor, flame thrower, and rail gun. It has an elevator is a decent map...just wished the weapons were different.
Gold Rush - my favorite of the new 3. Boom shot, frags, sniper. It's a pretty symetrical map, small size. It's alright I guess.
Flood - A very dark, odd, gritty design. The imulsion rises up I guess(didn't experience it myself). I'm not going to make much criticism on this map since I didn't play it much. It's the biggest of the 3 and although I don't camp, campers will probably like some of the hiding places in this one. Has the boomshot and hammer too.
you idiots who keep buying and later regret it saying "oh well, it's only $10" have allowed M$ to continue getting away with this. it started with halo 3 and has now found it's way into gears 2.
no one's saying they have to be free simply demand MORE for your money. stop encouraging M$ to continue handing us this '3 maps for $10' breadcrumb-bullshit.
