Uh oh, looks like those zany editors on Xbox.com jumped the chainsaw gun. Seven new Gears of War 2 Achievements have appeared on the Web site. As X3F points out, the Achievements have more than likely been added in preparation for that update Mark Rein detailed a few weeks ago.
The new Achievements are worth a grand total of 175 points and are unlocked by doing multiplayer things on the not-quite-exclusive Flashback map pack and Combustible downloadable content:
- Skeletons in your Closet (20G) - Complete waves 1 through 10 on all Flashback Map Pack maps in Horde (any difficulty)
- More Mystery, Less History (15G) - Win a multiplayer match on each of the 5 Flashback Map Pack maps (any mode except Wingman)
- Bound by a Shared Past (15G) - Win a Wingman match on each of the 5 Flashback Map Pack maps
- Trial by, and on, Fire (20G) - Survive first 10 Horde waves on Combustible Map Pack maps as a team
- The Roof! The Roof! The Roof... (15G) - Win a multiplayer match on each of the 3 Combustible Map Pack maps (any mode except Wingman)
- Forged in the Fire (15G) - Win a Wingman match on each of the 3 Combustible Map Pack maps
- Annex: Now With Execution Rules (75G) - Win an Annex match on each Flashback and Combustible Map Pack map (public matches only)
According to my thorough research (re: these Achievement details) Epic is not rewarding players for finding new glitches after Rein’s patch is released. It might be time to settle down and just play the game how it was intended, jerks. I don’t want another shelved and battered game because you broke it and uploaded YouTube videos again.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Sadly, for as fun and enjoyable I found Gears 2 to be, I stopped playing it relatively quickly. After my buddy and I finished all 50 Horde levels and did co-op on Insane, there just wasn't enough to keep me coming back to the glitch and douchebag-filled online mode. Luckily L4D released soon after and he and I love blastin' us some zombies!
Why would anybody in their right mind pay for the Gears 2 maps that are way too overpriced, let alone not even playable online because the online part of Gears 2 is fucked royally.
Well, at least I can get achievements out of the deal.
