It's time for your regular "Colonial Marines still exists" story! Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford has claimed that Borderlands essentially halted production on the co-op Aliens shooter, but that his team is able to really get to work on it now that the cel-shaded RPG/FPS hybrid is wrapped up.
"We have an Aliens game with Sega and 20th Century Fox which we’re really excited about," shares Randy. "It’s the thing I’ve been stealing from all my career. Now I’m really working on it, but we’ve been quiet about that so far. Borderlands took over Gearbox. We had so much fun working on that and when we finished we wanted to carry on. And the DLC -- we’ve launched two so far and there’s a third to come which take us to a new level in every way."
Aliens vs. Predator disappointed me greatly, but I'm not too let down knowing that another Aliens game is on the way, and from a studio that more than proved itself with Borderlands. I expect Gearbox to truly do the Aliens franchise justice and don't anticipate being left down again. There will be murder if I am not satisfied.

I'm giddy with the thought of a 4-8 player multiplayer experience that would essentially be Left 4 Dead/Borderlands coop, but with Aliens!
I hope Gearbox's game has a meaty campaign with interesting levels unlike Rebelion's recent AvP game.
Also, I hope their version of survivor has more variety, options and maps. For example the sentries would have been great in survivor mode if implemented correctly.
The one thing I am concerned about is the QTE fro example when you're using th epower loader :(

Should've let Obsidian keep doing their Alien RPG...would've been a shit ton better..but no, we get some crap FPS instead
I want to drive that APC into a hive and let rip with its weapons. I want remote dropship control and access to orbital payloads as a last resort. Throw in that crazy squad multiplayer action like Borderlands and this could be my fave Aliens game.

But anyway, this is why I hated boring lands. It was obvious that randy ''im such a big fan im making boring lands before this'' pitchford (yeah not buying his uberaliens fan act) put this before aliens, which is why im glad avp beat him to the punch in delivering a great aliens title which sold well.
quite frankly, I wish colonial marines were in better hands.. Borderlands had NO story and was very very dull single player. Is that what I have to look forward to from colonial marines? Infinity Ward , ID, anyone would have been my other preference.
Brothers in arms were ok, but tactics based shooting in aliens? lol, yeah hide and shoot and your cover disolves and you get torn apart.
