And that, my friends, is why some people think the WiiU is going to fail.
As for me, I've got a huge inventory-management-induced boner right now. Can you imagine how much managing your inventory would ROCK on that thing?!
...mainly due to the fact that the only people that brought great, otherwise non shit games to the Wii on a regular basis was Nintendo, at least at first 3rd parties only offered ports, shitports, crappy gamers and mini game collections which in essence poisoned the proverbial well so when the (still few) better efforts arrived made them harder to sell.
There, fixed that last paragraph for him.
And this is different from the norm....how?
Borderlands 2 on ps3 for me, cant fucking wait.
i don't feel like being patient with people like you,
go swallow some actual agent orange
That isnt true
Namco, capcom, square, you know the devs who gave a crap about dev and doing something original made alot of money
I'm not debating they haven't as I am not sure of exact numbers, but that being the case do you think you can you post some links? I find it incredibly hard to believe capcom made money on vs tatsunuko but I suppose I've seen stranger things happen.
Don't forget MH3. If memory serves, it was their most successful home console MH game.
On this topic, I am feeling more and more torn... I HAVE to have this game at launch and for the 360, but a WiiU Version (2 player Local play with 1 using the tablet) and/or a Vita Version(BL on the GO!!) are so awesome that I would have to consider them....@.@;;;;;;
And we still have no idea if online is going to be shit or not.
I don't know if Capcom would admit to making money on the Wii even if they had. Shinji Mikami had to force them to support the Gamecube, and there were stories at the time that Capcom execs were very unhappy with the arrangements.
Plus, it is Capcom. They can manage to lose money on nearly any project.
Ah, yes, mh. I still hear that is one of the only reasons to own my PSP and I still have yet to pick it up. Always looked good, just never got around to it. I wish it and other 3rd party games were multiplat tho, I feel we could get a greater sense of third party sales across all consoles.
Question, which third party multiplat titles made more on the Wii than they did on their pc/xbox/ps3 counterpart?
@tekbunny
Aside from the casual stuff that eventually hit all consoles thanks to Kinect and Move, I'd say the only games that made more on the Wii than the PS3/360 were probably Resident Evil 4 and No More Heroes. The difference this time around is the Pro Controller, which is being made almost EXCLUSIVELY for multiplatform developers and third-party games.
@Stealth
"doing something original made alot of money"
Developers are forced to be "original" when made to hold themselves back.
Well that is because generally most if not all the third party games lack quality gaming experiences, marketing in general, planned launches that Nintendo makes.
I think it is a dumb idea to bank on the success of Aliens: Colonial Marines for the port of this game, as it will probably flop because NONE OF THE ALIEN GAMES ARE GOOD...
But seriously what is the point of a scary game if you already know what is going to attack you? Where you might be going? And all the possible weapons you get?
They would be better off just making a new whole series instead of trying to make games based off of other people's ideas and expectations, that's why ID made Doom instead of an aliens video game when contacted by Fox in the middle of development.
Lets face it almost all of the alien movies suck horribly today. The only one I could possibly have any respect for is the first one because at least it was the most original and had the best Cinematography and was not completely obvious what was going to happen next.
Everyone says Aliens or "Alien 2" by JAMES CAMERON was amazing and all I see is the plot completely copied and pasted with some minor adaptions with little to no character development, and a machine gun with a grenade launcher duct taped to a flame thrower and that was probably my favorite part of the movie as it was clear to me that the movie was meant to be a comedy of the first one.
Inclusion of female with a personality of a robot: check
All androids in the film a tools of the evil corporation: check
Male protagonists that die horribly: check
Aliens: check
Horrible excuse for a plot: check
False ending copied from the first: check
don't even speak of the third...
So really I have no clue why after AvP flopped horrendously without any support in 6 months... why would they be dumb enough to make another game in the vein of this series.
Especially since the Wii U is probably the most controversial system in the market. Unless they have something huge up their sleeves.
But that is just my opinion
Wii U ports of 360 and PS3 games? Where's the value? You get a menu or a map on your controller? How much value really is there in that? Why would you buy this console for $250-$300 to buy games you can get on a 360 or PS3 for $200 (or less, even)? Especially with the real next generation around the corner. I just don't see the point. The Wii U has a real uphill battle.
