Gearbox: Great things afoot for Colonial Marines photo

Gearbox may be hard at work on Borderlands, but the team hasn't forgotten that other shooter it's working on. The one involving double-mouthed, phallic-headed space-rapists. News on Aliens: Colonial Marines has been so sparse that Gearbox has had to continually assure us it's still in the works, but according to boss Randy Pitchford, the wait for information will be worth it.

"I want to tell all, but I can't," explains Pitchford. "I can say that we are working hard and that there are great things afoot and I know that when the time is right, Sega will be excited to share more details about the game. Until that time, I guess the only thing anyone can do is just keep pressuring Gearbox and Sega to spill more beans. Maybe one of us will eventually crack.

"... I can imagine that there are a LOT of Aliens fans out there just like me that feel we've been waiting for our true Aliens game since we first saw the film and now that we know it's in development, we want it NOW!"

I have Pitchford's email. I guess if he's just invited me to bombard him with photographs of myself in the nude until he finally surrenders all the juicy gossip, then this is something I must do for the good of my readers. JOURNALISM has to be done!

Please let this game be good. I love Aliens more than I love cake, and I'm fat. You do the math.

I really, really hope this ends up being good. Aliens is pretty much the perfect video game license, so hopefully it'll be as great as it is in my dreams...

God, I can't wait for this game. How... nice... of them to remind us of its existence, though some actual information on the game would be appreciated. At least some screenshots!

The appeal of a squad-based tactical horror shooter is unbeatable! The first two AvP games were able to pull it off in the Marine campaigns with the main character being alone for most of the games, so this has an opportunity to be great. Persionally, I'd love to see some kind of plot connection between A:CM and AvP.

Also, obligatory: We're all gonna die man! and [/i] How do I get out of this chickenshit outfit!?[/i]

Nice to know it's still in the works. The preview I read forever ago made it sound like it had a lot of potential.

Outstanding. Now all we need is a deck of cards.

Oooh, that was pretty fucking perfect right there!

I'm gonna get the game no matter even if it sucks...

You know how you can make up to the fans for making us wait Gearbox/Sega? Make a super duper exclusive edition and pack in a life sized replica of a Pulse Rifle. One up Modern Warfare 2! $300 bucks? I'll scoop that baby up NO issues about it...living on ketchup is no issue for most of us! :D

I'm looking forward to this more than the AvP title purely because it focuses on the single franchise, oh and the leaked footage looked incredible.

Now that AvP is coming out I wonder if I care if they do a mode where you can play as zenomorphs.

However I want more than just CTF MP. Something new and fun that compliments the campaign mode.

Also a horde type mode but with the ability to prepare beforeceach wave with turrets etc.

But most importantly a fun campaign that retains the tension of the original 2 films - deadspace-esque. Also, xeno's blood should deform the envirnment.

Also there's no need to create new types of aliens and shoehorn them into the game. If they can add a queen Luke Cameron did and make it feel like a natural progression then sure. But if new types are forced in for the sake of variety, then not so much.I

I don't know why, but the game reminds me of Warhammer: Space Hulk, and Left 4 Dead.

In the meanwhile, someone should make an Aliens level for Left 4 Dead with the SDK. I think that would hold us over until Colonial Marines comes out.
